Even though the state of the current game is still rough as hell and almost embarassing to show, I still decide to put out this very short demo to show you the progress.

You can download this very early version of game demo in the attachment. So far, sorry for all the mac users, the demo can only be installed and played on Windows PC. It's playable with both key board & Mouse and a Xbox controller.

For those who doesn't have a PC, I also include a gameplay video in the attachment, so you can witness the progress of the game.

Note: in this game, there's no story element, not yet. I made this demo just to learn how to code a Beat-em-up game. I'm sorry, I know there's a lot of bugs and it's not as smooth as I wish it could be, but I'm still learning, and hopefully in the future demos, the game will be much better and has more content. (Right now, it's really just an empty tech demo).

Since it's just a tech demo, I haven't included the enemy attack yet. The skeleton solider will not attack, only the player can attack the enemy.

At the moment, there're two playable characters: Lolo and Hakim.

Use left and right arrow key on your keyboard to move the characters. Or, for controller users, use the left stick of your controller to move the character.

On Keyboard, press J key (as for "jab") to punch with fists.

With Xbox controller, press X to punch, press A to jump (for Hakim only at the moment).

For Lolo's magic attacks, here's the controls.

On controller,

Wind Magic: RT + X button

Ice Magic: RT + Y button

Lighting Magic: RT + B button

On Keyboard,

Press W / I / L keys for the same functions.

On controller, use the left menu button to go back to Title Screen.

On keyboard, use Esc key to go back to Title Screen.

My future plan is to make the game play more like "Streets of Rage 4". So there're a lot of changes needed to be done.

Also, the next tech demo will be showcasing the Turn based combat in the game.

Thanks a lot for your patience. And if you have any advice, please don't hesitate to leave it in the comments.

Yay!! I’m so excited to play it! Thank you so much for sharing your progress even though it’s not completely done. I always love how you share your work step by step. It makes it more fun to be able to experience each step of the way with you 😊❤️

I may not be into games or play at all, but I can still appreciate the art and effort you put into it. I definitely like Hakim (the BIG one, right?). Good luck on the progress!
