Joe had his iPhone crisis yesterday. His iPhone 5s just stopped working. It's stuck at the recovery mode screen, and weird white strips appeared on the screen as well. 

I spent hours searching on the internet to help fixing the problem without any success. I got error 9 first, then it became error 2009 and then it became error 1414. 

At this point, I'm convinced it's a hardware problem more than a software problem. This unfortunate incident just got my babe really depressed yesterday. 

My poor babe! It was the sudden death of his 2nd iPhone. (his last iPhone was 4S) He bought it at the mall FNAC a little more than one year ago (and the warranty is only one year). Joe has been an Apple fan boy for years and he has never used an Android phone. Now he has to live with the little green robot until we get him a new iPhone. XD

Poor baby. Am sure you tried wiping it and downloading from cloud. Have never tried android.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but how can a big guy like Joe be comfortable with such a tiny phone like the iPhone 5S? 😶 I would get so frustrated 😂😅

Thank you, Tee. We went to Apple store once and he tried iPhone 6 plus and he thought it was too big to use for one hand. But I actually like that, big is better. Different taste I guess.

I don't know how many times that little green robot has helped me in my times of need... Mainly helping me find the frustration I didn't have that day with a random software update. XD But, I've been an android fan for 7 years now and haven't had many issues since then. I do wish the best of luck for Joe getting accustomed to the android life long enough to get a new iPhone!

I'm so clumsy with phones, that's why I have a galaxy s6 with an otter box and not an iPhone lol. My babe has an iPhone and it doesn't take me long to navigate it because I have an iPad at home, as I mentioned a little back. So I feel bad Joe is having a mini mid life phone crisis. Definitely save up for the iPhone 8

Lol, my theory is his big hand tortured the home button of his phone which eventually killed it. XD He does not agree with me, but the fact is there, he destroyed the home button of the iPad as well.

Thank you, David. Looks like he converted you into an iPhone fan... good sign of a healthy relationship lol. Bad luck for Joe though, iPhone is even more expensive here in France than in the united states. To buy a new iPhone is not a small decision for us.

Damn, well he's gotta take one for #teamdroid for a bit. He'll be fine, I just have a feeling he'll get iPhone withdrawals. And yeah my babe kinda did and I'm already booking a flight to see him in the fall. He's in Florida taking care of his dad right now. And his dad adores me, even asked what my plans are for Christmas besides me working retail during the holidays.

Oh, golly. Well, they don't come very often, just when I least expect it. Though, I'm not sure if older models will update as frequently? Hopefully, for Joe's sanity, there won't be an update until after the new phone has been bought.

Maybe he can try a second hand iPhone for some time and buy iPhone 8 afterwards. I'm also a big fan of Apple and it's my nightmare to recover my data after my phone breaks. Poor Joe, hope he likes android phone.its much cheaper to live with android to be fair 😜

I think it's hard for long-time Apple users when there are such problems, with Apple having such a long reputation of worry-free products. Glad you're there to help Joe through his turmoil and give him a temporary solution. That's my role in my marriage and work environment.

I use an iPhone, and it is reliable enough that I can feel Joe's trauma, though I will have to ask, "What is Waze?"

Thank you, Jeff. I think these days it's a trouble for anyone to switch phones. Waze is a GPS app which has realtime traffic updates. Joe uses it a lot to drive around cities. XD

Thank you very much, Zack. I did try DFU mode, but the restore process always got interrupted by Error 9. And it got worse since yesterday, his iPhone 5S literally died. No matter how long I press on the home button or the power button or both, it stays turned off.

Thank you, Edgar. Totally agree, it's much cheaper to own an android phone. At the moment, he still complains about my old LG phone, but he's getting used to it, so maybe we will wait for the next iPhone 8 to get him a new iPhone. XD
