I just discovered the Dark Side of Joe. I can't really blame him though. His friend Lucien talks a lot on the phone, and it's not unusual for Joe to spend one hour on the phone with Lucien. It can get tiring sometimes. XD

Lucien is a friend who lives quite far from our place, so we don't get to see him often, but Joe always stays in contact with him. That man can really talk on the phone. LOL

I know that feeling. Subtitle can sometimes be an obstacle preventing me from enjoying a foreign movie too. Especially, I like to listen to movies or TV instead of actual watching when I'm working... Maybe you can check your phone or read a book beside him while he watches the anime. All he needs is your presence, I think, at least that's how I feel about Joe.
