After the dispute, I did a google search and found out Joe might be right on some level: Mosquitoes are attracted to light, but scientist have also determined that most insects prefer UV light (in the bluer, cooler spectrum) over infrared or other longer wavelength light sources (reds and yellows). Well, at least I learnt something today from our silly fight.

By the way, I don't know what happened this year, but in the city where we live (Nantes), we had more mosquitoes than previous years. Both of us have been bitten by those little vampires. XD
