This is why I think the adult content censorship on social media is pointless, cause any kid can pick up a phone, go to google and search porn, and get instantly millions of results.

Nothing but the truth! I understand needing to protect kids from certain content, but I think the powers-that-be have become over zealous, ie. Dumb as HELL!

I have to wonder if one of these social media companies had started in Europe, would there be significantly less censorship of sexuality and sexual expression, or even just nudity? America (of which I'm American) is so ass-backwards as a result of our puritanical origins that the naked body (especially naked men,) intimacy, sensuality and sexuality are uber taboo. God forbid (and yes, an overbearing Judeo-Christian ideology of a vengeful god)- God forbid a child be exposed to such things, even as innocent as a naked body or displays of affection. BUT NO, we can expose children to VIOLENCE, VIOLENCE and more VIOLENCE. It's so sad.

As someone from Asia, I always look up to the Americans for their freedom of expression, but it seems like things are going haywire recently. All the puritans and evangelicals are coming out of the woodworks.

I think it's more so that if parents did install software to censor adult content, social media platforms wouldn't get flagged as the site themselves wouldn't be adult content. It's kind of a backdoor around those censoring programs.
