On a side note, Joe wants us to open a joint bank account so both of us can put money in it. Don't know if it's a good idea?

Speaking from my personal experience, it would shift in the same kind of discussion, as "I have putted more money in the account than you", "But I have paid more bills", "If you wouldn't use electricity so much you would have less bills to pay" and so and so xD. The best is to have two separate accounts and each one have a record of his own. But this is my case, and is just an opinion xD

Thank you very much. I can totally understand that. I'm still hesitating on the joint account but he didn't insist, either. :D

If you get a joint account only use it for spending on things you both use or do together, like vacation expenses, food expenses... BUT always keep your personal finances separate. If he has a car that you don't use, that's his expense. If you have a leather fetish, that's yours ;)

er…a step forward to marriage?

Actually, I'm starting to notice that a lot of my married friends don't have joint account... a different kind of separate-togetherness.

An old couple came into a store I worked at several years ago and after quarreling for a few minutes, the man walked off and the woman, glaring at him, turned to me and said, "Can I give you some advice, kid? Live in sin and keep your finances separate!" LMAO

I'm must be quarrelling all wrong. All I get is a ticket to the dog house.
