After a lot of of thinking, I've made up my mind and I've decided to pause my Patreon for the necessary time needed.

For the past 7 years, I've worked every day, and single handed created a lot of comics. I'm proud of my creation and it has been a great experience because of your loving support. I'm grateful for that, sincerely. However, the time has finally caught up to me, and the negative impact of this relentless work has been more and more weary in my life.

Until now, you must’ve noticed that I post less and less often these days. There are many reasons, like the deterioration of my mental health after my social media backlashes and the deterioration of my physical health. But I don't wanna make excuses, I failed to achieve the work-life balance, and my life is very unbalanced right now.

Another major reason of my reduced productivity is from inside. These days, there's an increasing emptiness in my heart, and it has nothing to do with my personal life. It's the lack of knowledge from a creator's point of view. I feel that I desperately need to enrich my knowledge base for creating better art. To put it into understandable words: I need time.

For example, in order to create the comics of "The perfumed garden" (which is a big new project for me), I'm trying to learn a lot of new skills and get to learn more about the middle eastern culture. I re-read all the tales from "Arabian nights" and I'm learning Arabic, etc.

But all this effort takes time, and I'm contantly worried about my income (cause if I stop Patreon, I have no income), so I'm always under a lot of pressure to work work work until the day I realise that I'm becoming more and more short sighted.  I feel more and more that I'm working to get paid, and it's not exactly great. I wanna create good stuff for you, a good story and good art, a comic book that worth your time and money. I don't wanna create cheap jerk off material even though that's what the market wants me to do.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, please allow me to be capricious for some time. So I can reconnect with the muse inside of me in order to offer better work to you in the future. I promise this is not gonna be a vacation for me, I'll use this time wisely to prepare for my eventual return.

Another big question you might be wondering is what'll happen to your subscription after I put my Patreon on Pause. Well, rest assured. You'll NOT be charged at all during this time. No matter if you paid for the monthly subscription or the annual subscription, all charge will be paused. (The paid annual subscription will be extended with the same amount of time) In other words, you don't have to pay anything during this time and your subscription will remain.

Again, forgive me for this abrupt decision. I know I'm not gonna be posting for a long time and I'll feel guilty if I still accept your money during this absence. That's why I made this decision (to pause my Patreon and stop getting paid), and I hope it's the right decision for the future.

Of course my heart is full of fear. I don't even wanna imagine how many patrons I'll lose during this time. But from the bottom of my heart, I wish you'll still be here when I come back. Only this way, I can be certain that I'm not just some "trendy" creator, and my fans stay because they like what I create.

And you can be sure that I'll be back with better art this time.

Thanks a lot for your understanding, and hope to see you soon.

PS. Though I won't update any of my comics during this absence, I'll still check my Patreon from time to time. So if you guys have any question concerning the subscription or whatever, just leave it in the comments and I'll try to answer it.

So should we just stop our subscriptions until you’re ready to post again?

StallionMuscle88

I also understand taking the time to develop yourself and your art. I’m totally in support of that just wanted to know what’s gonna happen subscription wise.

Charley Deane

Take the time you need to rejuvenate. Would love to be able to purchase paperback copies of story lines or even digital books on future.

song

You don't have to do anything. All subscriptions are stopped (temporarily suspended) during this pause. And it will be resumed once I came back posting.

Miguel Castaneda

Your audience will be here when you find your creativity flowing again. Take time, be well. Live.

song

Thanks for the understanding. The subscription will remain but "frozen" in time (it means that none of my patron will be charged during this time for their subcription). And you don't have to do anything, it's all automatic.

StallionMuscle88

Ok cool thank you for that! A big fan. I’ve bought a few of your comics “Bigger is Better” on paper back a couple of times and have been following for some time! Thank you for your work, art, and discipline to deliver constantly. Take the time you need to get that balance back, and reground yourself. We’ll be here when you get back! Excited to see how you grow once the break is over, however long it may be!

song

Thanks, Charley. I'll think about making digital books in the future. (I'll probably put them on sale on Amazon or Apple Book store, cause I've alrady done that in the past. )

song

Thanks, Miguel. I cross my fingers.

song

Thanks a lot. Promise that I'll deliver better art when I come back.

Charley Deane

Oh really! That’s great! Still available? And again even though I’m asking for work, do what ya need to do to enjoy what you love

song

It's still available, I think... I haven't checked for a long time, but it's not much really, it's only the first chapter of Big Is Better in digital format. I think I can make better digital books now. Thanks again for the understanding.

I'm not going anywhere. I subscribed to your content because you're so wonderfully, beautifully authentic. It's YOUR voice I love. Whether it's speaking today or five years from now, I will still love to hear from you, make no mistake. Take all the time you need. I will be here, waiting to find out the next steps in your journey when you're ready to tell it. Thank you for everything you've done and will still do. Your work means so much to my partner and I. Be well. Love, Geoff and Gord.

Rocco La Pietra

Take the time you need!!! Burnout is a motherfucker!!! Mental health is your true wealth, without it, you don’t really have anything that will last in life.

Michael

Song, I commend you on having the courage to take a step back and regain your artistic muse. I admire your decision to allow yourself to become a better artist as well as a happier/healthier individual. Your work has always been a joy of mine since I started following you. Yet, like you said, this is not a goodbye but a see you soon. So I wish you the best of luck during your time away and I can’t wait to see your work in the future. Much love, -Michael ❤️🥰

Juliet Belcouleur

J'espère que ton coeur sera éventuellement de nouveau comblé.

Tony Holewinski

Your art & your mental health go hand & hand, Song. You do whatever you need to get a balance back into your life. I, for one, will still be here for you. I didn’t subscribe for “cheap jerk off material”. Your art is beautiful, sensual, erotic, & most of all, relatable. Don’t stress about us, those who truly support you will be here whenever you’re ready!

Ivan Enchev

Take your time and heal!

Jayson C

As an artist who has worked through the past few years, I completely understand where youre coming from. It’s hard to really acknowledge this and to follow through….. wish you luck in getting a break and finding that spark! We’ll be waiting for your return!

Elliott

Look after yourself above and beyond all other things! Hope you find healing both relaxing and invigorating. As others have said, it takes real courage to do this, so we’ll all still be here ready to support your art when you’re back. 😄

Andrew Dolan

The good news is that I intend to stick around and let you reacquaint yourself to your muse. Also, if you need to chat, vent, gripe, whine, complain or if you have a question that you need an answer to, please private message myself and I'll be happy to read all about it and perhaps give you that answer, if I have it.

Andrew Dolan

The bad news is that I will be honest with you, and you may or may not appreciate it, so fair warning. Please know that I do believe in your talent and ethic. My very best to you and yours.

Chris Weakley

Do what you need for your mental health and creative soul!

HappyKiwi

Do what you gotta do man. The people who love your work will still support you at the other end. Be well.

Grand Ours

Sympa ton message. Par pur accès sur les causes, tu vois le bienfait de céder a ta demander (comme c'est déjà surement de certains). Attends le temps de semble bons... a tout à l'heure... peut importe ce délai imposé. Bon courage!!!

Alex Lindsay

Do what you need to do. Take the time you need to take. We’ll be here when you’re ready to return. Best wishes for finding the skills, strength, support, and joy as you focus on the next chapter in your life…with YOU as the central character.

Sam A Milazzo

You will not lose me as a Patron or follower / fan. I totally understand your need for time, for without Art there is no Life and without life there is no Art. Take however amount of time you need to do whatever it is you must figure out, so take care and I appreciate the heads up ... good luck!

Marcus

You do what you need to do to get rest and find your inspiration again. I can wait till you get back on your feet and into your art again. I’ll miss not seeing your content for awhile. I’ll keep holding on. 😉

David

Take good care of yourself and see you again when you're ready.

Philip Pearson

I’ve been thinking about your announcement. Like many of your followers I am shocked that you didn’t take any time off, and therefore understand and am supportive of your decision. Best wishes for your recuperation and I/we look forward to your return when you have decided upon amending your life/work balance. Thank you for your beautiful work Philip 💖😘

Reza

I can understand needed to take a break. That's probably why l couldn't subscribe to your patreon cause it said you were taking new members.

Benjamin Holloway

I'm new to your patron. I love your stuff. I'll be staying for sure. Take your time. Grow, improve, and become the artist you envision. 💕
