It was very common for soldiers to go AWOL from medical bays to find their way back to their unit to fight. The guy in this episode was fine. He just couldn't sit. He was shot in the butt

Hell's Yeah!! Band Of Brothers time! I am still surprise that I am as into this show as I am. This is a "Headphones on , sound cranked ,lights dim thing. Checklist Time - Fatty rolled and ready - Check - Beer freezer cold - Smokes and Zippo - Check - Patron freezer cold for intro and outro toast - Check . *Raises glass "To those who never heard the shot." Peace

Black Hawk Down is a great war movie that takes place in Somalia in the 90s

Annnd we're done! Hell's yea Sir. Outstanding! If I didn't smoke grass , I would need my Xanax before each episode. I really liked the fact that this episode dealt with FNG's.(Fuckin new guys) It's more common in the Vietnam films I have seen than WW2. Another powerful episode. As for more War films , I say 110% yes. Gotta stick with my previous recommendations of Black Hawk Down - 2001 - Director - Ridley Scott - Somalia , 1993. And one of the least reacted to Vietnam films , (However , much more accurate than most others. ) Hamburger Hill - 1987. Based on a real battle , and it stays with 1 platoon for the duration of the film. Brutal , and moving. As always Sir , thanks for the amazing reaction! Be back tomorrow! Peace (I need ta watch something fun , wholesome , an chock full 'o' gore now! AHHA! Cocaine Bear! Been a while and perfectly fun and also based on a true story! : ]

The "where do I know him from" is James McAvoy. You have seen him as young Professor X, in the X-Men films.

Love that you're finding the show so intriguing! Does that mean you'll watch the Pacific mini series next ? It's basically part 2 of BOB

Anxiety? Try Tenet next time

Scott Asher

I need a 15 minute video about baby elephants or puppies or something cute after watching these.

Scott Asher

He would geek out over the "one-shot" cinematography in 1917.

My Great Grandfather immigrated to America from Denmark when he was 7. When he was 14 he lied about his age on his enlistment paper and shipped out to WW1. There's a good chance that happened a lot in WW2. Some of those fresh recruits were high school aged. Birth Certificates, if available, were easily forged.

Scott Asher

I played baseball in Holland after college and any time I'd ask about WW2 they'd always say their family was in the resistance... but I knew at least half of them were lying... I mean, someone had to snitch on Anne Frank.

Saving Private Ryan was a film about the ground troop invasion of Normandy starring Tom Hanks. That movie, especially the graphic Omaha Beach scene, reminded a new generation of the bravery and sacrifice that those soldiers faced to secure our freedom. Tom Hanks wanted to pay tribute to the airborne divisions that paved the way for the ground invasion so he produced this mini series, Band of Brothers. After BOB he produced The Pacific, about the heroics in the Pacific Theater.

Madmanmarz1981

If you wanna see a modern day war mini-series. You could check out generation kill. It's really good. It follows a US marine recon battalion in Iraq.

Market Garden was horrendous failure and we stopped letting the British plan major operations after than. Montgomery was a glory hound and a bad general. When we took full control things went much better.
