This is a total shot in the dark here, but was that news reporter guy on TV from the beginning of the episode the same actor as Perd Hapley--another news dude--on Parks & Rec? "Ya Heard? Simple answers to your early questions. She is with Dexter because he has actually been good to her and the kids. Paul was an abusive drug user. As mentioned before, he beat and raped Rita. Dexter has done nothing but be supportive of her and her kids. So she is willing to try and help him with his addiction. Dexter simply doesn't want to have to go through the process of meeting someone again just so he can look like he has a normal relationship and life.

I get that you don't understand the meetings and talking about your life with other folks but 12 step programs have actually been proven to be more effective than treatment facilities. For all forms of treatment success rates aren't great. Most people don't want to stop. Until they actually hit rock bottom, they think they are fine. I was 100% with you that going to meetings seemed stupid. The first day I saw a therapist he said, why are you here? I told him I was an alcoholic. He said go to AA. I quit on my own and 60 days later I was half crazy so I went to my first meeting. That was 16 years, 2 months and 7 days ago. I have always felt better leaving a meeting than when I went in. You probably are shocked someone would post their business here but the reason AA works is because you see people in many case far worse off than you who were able to sustain sobriety for decades. You need to hear the worst stories and the success stories. It does work... if you work it.

You do understand that quite a few states still have the death penalty right? That socially sanctioned murder. People cosign it in both that and in federal level. So exactly what is the difference if he (single individual) does it, and actually gets it "right" every time, and the general population allowing the state to kill people who are sometimes not guilty? Which is more morally reprehensible? Not either? Both equal?
