PIG

It's incredible how this movie is something you can dissect to this day for the good and bad parts of society. Looking forward to his reaction!

Scott Asher

I hope you enjoy this film... thoroughly.

gak9319

Are you looking at me?😑

Denise Mattsen

Do you really think Martin S wrote this movie for women? Martin S? He did Goodfellas, The Departed, Casino, Raging Bull, Gangs of New York. You really think he's out here making this a feminist type movie? Come on man lol!

Denise Mattsen

Iris is played by a young Jodi Foster.

gak9319

It might be a mention to it, if nothing else. The 70s was the hight of the original feminist movement. Who had legitimate concerns, unlike the absolute insanity being pushed these days.

gak9319

If it's for symbolism, i guess because a canary sings?

Isaac

The customer who is being cheated on who says he’s gonna shoot his wife with the magnum is the Director himself Martin Scorcese

gak9319

He's also one of the guys checking Betsy out, during Travis' monologue about her.

gak9319

Kris Kristofferson was part of The Highwaymen, a country music group. He was an actor as well. He was in Blade, Blade' mentor Whistler.

slimsycentaur37

It's pretty mid. One of Scorceses weaker films before he found his style

slimsycentaur37

Still better then anything Nolan puts out though! LMAO

gak9319

Travis is disillusioned with the world and extremely bitter.

Holy Shit!! I am overjoyed to finally see this one pop up! Been a while since I checked another one off my Reactor Bingo card: ] This one is in my Top 10 Favorite Non Horror Films List. And great comments by everyone so far: ] I can see I am not the only fan. I am very excited to see your reaction to such a classic film. I really do believe you'll love it: ] Checklist Time - Fatty rolled and ready - Check - Beer freezer cold - Check - Smokes and Zippo ready - Check Let's hail a cab , and check out New York!! Peace " But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow your head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?"

Madmanmarz1981

Annd we're done! A straight up Banger Sir!!!So very glad you enjoyed it. I requested this one once upon a time ago. One of my favorite things about this film is the brilliant music score by Bernard Herrmann. Sadly , he died on Christmas Eve 1975 , just a few hours after he finished the scoring. The film was dedicated to him. Also , Paul Schrader's screenplay was some what autobiographical , as he was going through a dark and very lonely time in his life. Also , the reason New York was so "dirty" at the time was there was a garbage strike going on at the time of filming. And great call on the feminist point. I quote Scorsese In an interview with Roger Ebert upon the film's release, Martin Scorsese called it "my feminist film ... because it takes macho to its logical conclusion. The better man is the man who can kill you. This (movie) shows that kind of thinking, shows the kinds of problems some men have, bouncing back and forth between (their perception of women as) goddesses and whores." Again , well done Sir!! Can't wait till next drop!! Peace " There's a .45 in the fridge, and you grab a FUCKING frying pan! "

Movie Request Time Again!! John Carpenter's The Thing - 1982 - Director - John Carpenter - Staring - Kurt Russell - Keith David - Sci-Fi/Horror - A research team in Antarctica encounter something non-human. All of the special effect's were practical. Done by a 22 year old Rob Bottin and his team. 33 years later the prosthetic effects still look unbelievable!!! Fun Fact - It has become a tradition in British Antarctic research stations to watch The Thing (1982) as part of their Midwinter feast and celebration held every 21st June: ] I do hope you will consider this film for a reaction very soon. Thank you very much Sir : ]

Thimk as in it makes you think about why its spelled wrong. It's meant to make you thimk.

Denise Mattsen

While I agree that it is mentioned because of the time the movie was filmed, I still don't think this is a feminist centered movie that's intended primarily for women. I'm curious about what he cut in his comments. There is a moment when he starts to talk about Travis coming back to her work after their failed date and there is an obvious cut from talking about Travis being one of those people who do terrible things at schools to something about toxic femininity and not giving credence to toxic masculinity. Makes me think he said something wild that had to be cut out.

Hey Boyd! Completely unrelated to the movie but King Los commented on your recent freestyle reaction (that I requested!) he wants you to check out his newest one!

Jake Martin

I just googled it, and it turns out that answering machines have been around way longer than I thought--first one was in 1935! Really didn't became a mainstay until the 80's-90's, though.

Bob Renholder

My underrated movie is Street Kings (2008) with Keanu Reeves, ton of other recognizable names, it's a decent Saturday flick.

DoomGummy

Love this one as well, fun watch. Keanu in a role not typical for him.
