Chris’s addiction recovery failed because Tony and the crew kept pressuring him to drink, to be “one of the boys.” In the end, Tony despises his own failure as seen in Chris.

Susan B

Paulie at least acknowledges that they all “broke his balls” when Chris tried to stay off of drugs and alcohol.

Susan B

Tony didn’t want Chris to be an addict OR a recovering addict.

Another typo Mr Lboyde, its SOPS6E18 missed clicked the 7 😂

Everyone feels his loss, except for Tony.

Tony has had many opportunities to become a better person, in previous seasons he at least tried(kinda). But now he has completely embraced the monster. Projecting his relief onto Carmela. Going on and on about the babyseat, to somehow make his death justified.

Music on car radio during the crash was Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb, which Tony was singing to himself in the previous episode. A Sopranos super-fan vlogger said this week that Chris was the worst person in the show, if you exclusively base it on his actions, the petty reasons why he killed or maimed people, and most of all his betrayal of Adrian, sending her to her death because he would rather sacrifice the one person who truly loved him, than live the ordinary life they might have had in the Witness Protection Program. (If you go back and look at the moment before Chris decides to tell Tony about Adriana, there’s a scene at a gas station where he’s watching a family get into a decrepit old car with all their belongings strapped to the roof. In that second, Chris apparently decides that leaving town with Adriana and building a life together would mean he’s no longer “special.” Not a made man, not a screenwriter, just Adriana’s true love. And he chooses to go to Tony and betray her to her death. This YouTuber also theorizes that the Sopranos is as much Chris’ story as Tony’s: it’s about how viewers can be made to care about, and even try to justify, characters whose inner lives and backstories were allowed to see.

Peyote is a psychedelic. Comes from a cactus. The native tribes out in the desert used to use to commune with the spirits.

There’s a scene that was edited out that shows the most likely reason Tony was so ready to kill Chris. Tony and Carmela show up unannounced at Chris’ house and find him and his wife are hosting a dinner party. For their non-mob friends.

Susan B

The lighting on Tony’s face while he’s killing Chris is crazy evil.

Susan B

That’s kind of how I interpret his “I get it” exclamation at the end of the episode. His revelation is that he is the bad guy in his story.

Susan B

Tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete. 😃

I've seen it, Chris' panic after Tony and Carm leaves says it all.

Susan B

Gandolfini, though. What a performance.

I’d like to try a psychedelic once before I die. Under supervision, with a guide who kind of anchors and calms people when the mind becomes too open, which I’ve heard can be terrifying. I know it’s been successfully used to combat chronic depression - a single trip, delivering a perspective on life and death and our place in the universe, that people find very freeing. Some say they come out of it without ever fearing death again, because they’ve seen the bigger picture.

I've read a bit of the theory, it was surprising how much has been written about the subject. I've never tried Peyote, but i did try Psilocybe. It grows out in the forest where I live. You'll be surprised how litte you actually remember, but if the trip is good you will feel positive about the experience.
