B-String

I love this movie. I think a missed theme in this movie is the overall strain that is put on hard working men who do their best to provide and basically get punished for it. By government, society and even their spouses. In the news interview with his best friend, his friend says something along the lines of "you take a man like that and back him into a corner." Government expects you to keep paying taxes, hospitals expect you to pay up or accept the unimaginable, and your spouse expects more. You can't squeeze blood from a turnip, and you can't expect more from a man who is doing literally everything he can.

Another EXCELLENT REACTION💪🏾 Please consider doing The Negotiator, if you haven't already.

Alllright , it's movie time again: ] And it's in my Top 10 Favorite Denzel movies. (Fallen forever #1; ) ) I really think you will enjoy this one Sir. Oh , and just to answer a question you , or someone else may ask , No , this was not based on a true story. There are some similarities to an incident in Canada(1999) in which a man was shot dead after holding a doctor hostage with an imitation handgun after his infant son was refused medical assistance. Ok , Checklist Time - Fatty rolled and ready - Check - Eatables eaten - Check - Smokes and Zippo - Check Ok, get ready ta have your heart strings pulled , and your nerves on edge !! Peace : ]

Annnd we're done: ] And yet again , ya knocked it outa the park Sir. Great reaction. The film did win a few awards , and was pretty well liked by the critics and fans alike. And Ethan Suplee (Max the security guard) did loose a huge amount of weight. You may remember him from American History X as Seth. He also worked with Denzel in Remember The Titans , and Unstoppable. And that just about does it for this one folks. Again , great reaction Sir! ; ] Peace

Movie Re-Request Time Again!! Escape From New York - 1981 - Director - John Carpenter - Sci-Fi / Action - Starring - Kurt Russell - Harry Dean Stanton - Isaac Hayes - Plot - New York has become the maximum security prison for the U.S. The most wanted criminal in the country is forced to go inside to rescue the President. - This film is a must watch for any true sci-fi/action fan out there. Great cast , story , and classic Carpenter directing. Also , no CG was used as they did not have it in 80-81. All was done with matte paintings , miniatures , and some very clever camera work. I don't think I have ever heard anyone who has seen it say they did not like it. Even Kurt Russell says it is his favorite character: ] And , as a native New Yorker , you sooo need to see this one. I do hope you will consider adding this to the watch list soon. Thanks so very much. Peace : ]

The US has spent over $30,000,000,000 in 4 months in the war with Iran. That's why we cant give our citizens health care. Because we need the money to bomb the middle east. Same exact story as in 2002 when Bush was doing the same. Things don't change.

I grew up watching this film. I never paid much attention to the social commentary of the American Healthcare system, but to the actions of John Q as a father. Since my own father wasn't around, this became one of my examples of what a father should be This was the first time I've watched this since becoming a father myself and it was alot harder. Thinking of my own son throughout, hoping that I never have to go through a similar situation, and knowing I would go just as far for him. I'm glad you reacted to this film and enjoyed it. It is a film that should be seen by all fathers.

A lot more layers to that onion than Bush, Obama and now.

Crazy to think that kid is 36 these days.

Of course, I just mentioned bush because the movie was talking about that time frame, but it's consistent no matter the administration.

I love this movie and all the social commentary. The system is so messed up, and it seems to get worse as the years go by. I agree that we need something in the middle, and I hope that happens sooner rather than later. Denzel is an amazing actor who puts everything into his roles. You genuinely feel the grief and pain of this father. Great reaction as always!
