If you are into books and want to know, sort of, what it's like to be a trader during this period, Michael Lewis has a book called Liars Poker that talks about his period as a trader with Saloman Brothers back in the 80s. It's a fun read and very interesting. Dang, that's some loud music lol.

the eighties were so tacky ? Not if you were there

I said the same thing “ That’s crazy” when he said $50k and talking about the taxes. But I pumped the brakes 😂. $50,000 back in 87’ would be just a tick under $135,000 today. But in Tennessee back then minimum wage was a whopping $3.35 per hour. Or $6432 a year at 40 hours Before taxes. 😂 I was 11 years old. And talking about NYC? Can’t forget that NYC was a pretty damn rough through the 80’s.

😂 It’s been probably 20 years since I saw this one. 😂 It’s the PG version of the Wolf of Wall Street on training wheels

It's a shame Charlie Sheen stopped doing serious roles, he is a decent actor🙂 This one and Platoon are very good movies😁

Anyone else recognize Mr Willis from The Jefferson’s? He was the guy that got fired and had the divorces.

I don’t keep up with actors names but the female lead in this movie is a vegetarian and the dinner they had together was probably our first look at impossible (fake) food.

D Montano

You know you have to do the sequel now, right?

Film is set in 1986, and in 1986 the top federal income tax rate was 50%, so Bud is maybe paying about 32% effective federal and all the NY state taxes on top would take it to 40%
