Hello guys!

I watched Thor today and seeing some of the comments from you I am wondering if you want me to watch all of them, which ones I need to rewatch and most importantly, the order. Don't let me do another machete order.

I'll see you in the comments!

the only thing i thought of when you posted it was thor ragnarok. but to be honest even though it’s my favorite thor movie, it’s kind of important to watch a few of the other movies beforehand

ezza

It's sort of important you watch them in release order. You can get that list easily 👍

Dallas Darnell

Yes, watch all of the marvel movies in release order up ending with Avengers Endgame. If you don’t want to commit to 22-24-ish movies, you can probably cut it down to 8 to 10 of critical movies.

Scott Asher

I'm like you, I've seen a few of the earlier movies and parts of a couple more. It'll be interesting to get your reaction as another first time viewer.

Call me Lilly, Lilith if ya Nasty.

I'm assuming by 'Marvel' you're talking about the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) which technically began with Iron Man (2008) but there's some fuzzy cannonicity prior to that. Spider-Man is a Marvel character but the movie rights were sold to Sony long before the MCU was a glimmer in any movie producer's eye so no Canon MCU Spider-Man until Avengers: Civil War. But, in any event. Iron Man 2008 to EndGame, watch in order of theatrical release chronologically. No fancy-schmancy machete nonsense there. The first few movies don't have much connectivity other than being obviously part of the same universe with little easter-eggs and call-backs but then it hit's it's stride and it all builds-up to EndGame, after EndGame they didn't seem to really know what to do next so it's a safe place to leave-off the MCU franchise. Some of the Netflix Marvel-Universe shows were canon to the MCU timeline early-on but then the guy in charge of Marvel Movies had a feud with the guy in charge of Marvel TV and that was the end of that. Just consider the Marvel TV shows their own thing and ignore them for purposes of these movie watch-throughs, but some of them are quite good so maybe check them out when you're done with Breaking Bad or The Boys or suchlike.

I don't approve of any more time or money going to Disney

steven engler

I guess I'll wait on Thor to see if you go back to the beginning of mcu

tony hotaling

Listen, as far as I'm concerned, we only enjoy your reactions if YOU like what you're watching, if that makes any sense

Reece Vando

The marvel journey is mad fun definitely recommend watchin all of them

Mike

Bro, I'm here for this. You can go either in release order OR Timeline order, and Disney+ already has a list for timeline order. So. And there are a couple of stinkers( Hulk, IronMan 2 - 3. Thor 2) But they do not take away from the epic awesomeness that is the MCU, or the ridiculous payoff that is Endgame... And after the movies, there are a couple of shows that are must see as well. Super excited

Alyssa Dyson

Release order is the only way to go imo. Watch them the way we did 💜

Jon

Release order please

Gravy

Release order tells the story as it should unfold

Dasypodidae

I'd prefer you'd watch the hobbit movies (and fantastic beasts) before you go into a new movie franchise.

MRLBOYD

I will, I won't be watching only Marvel but keep doing all the other ones I have pending + suggestions at the same time. I also have Terminator 2, Matrix 2, the newer star wars movies, the hobbit and fantastic beasts. I probably forget some lol

Clinton Brown

Marvel is pretty bad right now but the older stuff was pretty good.

Jonathan Giles

Release order. Maybe stop after Endgame.....

Riley

This is the most wise

You should absolutely watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe my dude! The MCU is split into phases and you should watch all of them (IN RELEASE ORDER) for the complete story, including all of the post credit scenes (they all have after-credit scenes that are important to the overall story). If you've seen a few of them but don't remember details than I suggest you re-watch them as they come in order, so you don't miss anything that becomes important down the road. For full context and an understanding of the larger picture, you need to watch everything, regardless of what some people might say about a movie being not as good as others. Even the less popular MCU movies are still good, and super critical to the saga. Here are the movies in release order for the first 3 phases: Phase One Iron Man - May 2, 2008 The Incredible Hulk - June 13, 2008 Iron Man 2 - May 7, 2010 Thor - May 6, 2011 Captain America: The First Avenger - July 22, 2011 Marvel’s The Avengers - May 4, 2012 Phase Two Iron Man 3 - May 3, 2013 Thor: The Dark World - November 8, 2013 Captain America: The Winter Soldier - April 4, 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy - August 1, 2014 Avengers: Age of Ultron - May 1, 2015 Ant-Man - July 17, 2015 Phase Three Captain America: Civil War - May 6, 2016 Doctor Strange - November 4, 2016 Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 - May 5, 2017 Spider-Man: Homecoming - July 7, 2017 Thor: Ragnarok - November 3, 2017 Black Panther - February 16, 2018 Avengers: Infinity War - April 27, 2018 Ant-Man and the Wasp - July 6, 2018 Captain Marvel - March 8, 2019 Avengers: Endgame - April 26, 2019 Spider-Man: Far From Home - July 2, 2019 I didn’t list the next two phases, but the MCU is currently in phase 5. If you watch the first 3 phases and love where it takes you as a viewer then you should definitely continue into phases 4 and 5, which also include a number of TV shows, not just movies. All of this content is readily available on Disney+. Looking forward to going on this journey with you dude!

Jakob

I'd love it if you watched The Hobbit First; there are a lot of Marvel Movies, after all. Though, that's just my preference, of course

ViperBreeze

Yes and once he’s done it never revisit the MCU again except for personal favorites

Kyle Komperda

Yes please do the marvel movies but mix the Hobbit Movies and others in between. The marvels, wouldn’t wanna see 30 marvels in a row.

Teth

The earlier Marvel movies aren't complete trash, the Cap movies are even great, but there are a lot of them and IMO it's kind of a waste of your type of commentary. I hope you'll at least spread them out so you can watch movies with a bit more substance as well.

Billy

It's gonna be a waste of your time tbh man

Teth

I'd 100% recommend stopping at 3 and saving yourself the Marvel fatigue if it hasn't hit by then. They're going to drag this out like TWD, so why not stop where there's an actual end and it still makes some sense?

Ciaran Boag

YES I’m so happy to see Terminator 2 on your list bro! My all time favourite film, so glad you haven’t forgot about that one lol! Can’t wait for it.

EndlessRiver

Tbh, I hope not. It's going to be like a year worth of superhero movies that won't provide a great payoff. But I'll watch whatever you put out lol. The Deadpool series is pretty good though.

Venoms Views

Definitely do all 3 of the guardians of the galaxy, then The Avengers movies and the newer spider man movies with Tom Holland are pretty good as well.

MRLBOYD

I've seen Black Panther, I think I've seen all the Ironman's and 2 Spiderman's (the older ones). I don't remember them all with an adequate level of detail though. Which ones are important enough to rewatch?

MRLBOYD

Thank you!! That is an incredibly detailed response and I like that

MRLBOYD

I won't be stopping watching other movies, I don't want to watch all MCU one after the other because I'd get tired of it. I have the hobbit, the fantastic beasts harry potter thing, terminator, matrix... and all the suggestions you guys send me so I will be watching a mix of things.

MRLBOYD

That's exactly my thought! I'll be mixing Marvel with all the other movies I have pending

SnakeandNape

I think if you start with Captain America and then go in chronological order you should get the whole story.

MRLBOYD

I'll be mixing in all type of movies. I have seen how many Marvel movies are out there and I'd rather watch other stuff in between too

Justin Inbegriff

they have the order on disney+ as the timeline goes because some releases jump around, let me know if you need me to get it for you if you dont have good ol disney+

MulletsMenagerie

Personally not a fan, but i know most people are so do whats best for the channel =)

Diiego

Definitely! Just became a patron rn to vote for this and love the boys, release order is the only way though or it could get contusing by post credit scenes since it was made to be watched in the way it comes out (unless rewatching). Also pls pls for the life of me don't listen to the ones saying to stop at a certain point. Some may be less in quality then others but i watch your reactions for YOUR insight on them, not what other ppl think it might be. Even the ones that i agree are bad are still good movies just low in quality to other MCU films which is why i think it gets a lot of anger since we know how good it can be. Some of the best ones came out later though as you'll see when u get to GoTG3 which released this year (no spoilers) Reactors that have done them all never tend to feel as much hatred as returning viewers since they come in open-minded without bias which is why I'd love to see your own opinions about the MCU as a whole. Very Excited for the journey with you.

Triforce of Shadows

Some are outstanding, some are ehhh.... I think if you go in release order that it would be a good watch as they all connect together very nicely for the first few sets of movies. After Infinity war, they kinda go down in quality, even endgame to me wasn't as good as Infinity War, but by no means a bad movie.

Mike

Endgame was amazing. It was the payoff... Without it, it's like Lord of the Rings, without the ride of the Rohirrim.

Mike

If you want to watch The Hobbit, and/or Fantastic Beasts, go for it. However if you aren't excited to, you could put it to a vote. My honest opinion is that Hobbit and Beasts are both so inferior to their preceding series, as to be unwatchable/obvious cash grabs.

Triforce of Shadows

When I re-watched it was better to me, maybe I just expected one thing and it wasn't what i thought. I actually got into MCU from Infinity War. I had seen Iron Man movies, but I skipped all the others, being more of a DC Fan, but Infinity War got me to go back and watch most of them since then. (I guess I hold I.W. on a bit of a pedestal for getting me into alot of these characters I paid no attention to or little attention to before.)

Teth

Endgame was not good and Infinity War was overrated, but at least they wrap up the story. It's a good place to stop since most of what came after isn't worth watching, and they're likely to keep churning stuff out ad infinitum regardless of quality now

Tron

It’s more of an intelligence poll, I think 😂

Mr Kitty

Marvel movies tend to fall into a monotonous pattern after a while. Your insights will make it more interesting for us watching them again. Please pause the videos when you are sharing your thoughts. Also I find your theories to be fun when you share them as the movie progresses!

Bill Shields

The only Marvel movie I enjoy is Dr. Strange. I think its the only movie and character that shows honest and believable character growth. Also the only movie with adults acting like adults. The rest are a bunch of adults acting like little kids.

Mr. Lamb

If you go down the MCU path, I only say do the "Infinity" arc. From Iron Man until Avengers: Endgame. Nothing wrong with going beyond that, but you may feel fatigue from the franchise as a whole over the course of 23 movies.

Teth

BTW, as a counterbalance to MCU movies, I'd love to hear your take on more historical movies based on real events since you seem to have an interest in history. Like Waterloo, Apollo 13, Schindler's List (idk, might be a sore topic atm), Lawrence of Arabia, Alexander (gets a bad rep but actually one of the best and most accurate historical war movies). Did you see the Chernobyl TV series?

John Dodo

Release order but feel free to do Deadpool whenever because it’s not tied directly into the marvel saga but it is rated R and has lots of guns and the witty dialogue is top notch

Diiego

Deadpool movies have to be after Logan, it spoils the movie.

Alejandro Rosiles

Some people say release order but it jumps around too much timeline wise. Chronological order would be better starting with Captain America and going from there. You can find the order online.

Dasypodidae

I was wondering if you're still planning on doing the hobbit (and fantastic beasts) movies? You've done several marvels already and the other ones you've mentioned in your reply but not yet any hobbitses.
