We have started our Patreon in February 2017, gradually gaining supporters over time.
Because of that, we were able to finish Rape of the Dead safely in September, because we received a lot of support. We have to thank you again for your continuing support. For us, TeamKRAMA, you're very valuable, we honestly appreciate it.
The production of Rape of the Dead ends with the release of the Patreon Limited Edition. The development of the new game will then begin to slowly start.
We have an apology to make, though.First, we wanted you to vote on what our next project is going to be, including a sequel of RoD and deciding our next planning. But after consulting with our team members, we decided not to develop a sequel for RoD.We would like to receive your approval for our project.
Heres why our plan changed
1) We do not have the time, or resources, to summarize all the potential projects, not to mention to even have them translatedWe thought about 7 different projects you could vote for, but we realized that some things were just too ambitious or we would lack money, or for some projects even motivation, to make them a reality.
Thus, we would rather spend our time on planning one project thoroughly, rather than be planning 7 different ones with appealing ideas, planning, documentation, presentation, translation, etc., etc.. I hope that is understandable.
2) We want to narrow down our project based on the results of the questionnaire we usedLooking at the questionnaire answers, we were able to see what things most users want. We narrowed these things down to possible, and feasible, ideas that could actually be made into a game. Something that everyone would like to work on. Afterall, a game has to be made with love, a passion. It has to be for you too, not just for our wallet.
3) We want to expand the possibilities of our concepts. You may be eager for a sequel of RoD, and you probably won't be the only one. We had to abandon multiple features while working on the game. But we still tried to get them into the game somehow.
Like how people want additional costumes, a skill system, more enemies, weapon variety, more graphics settings and more attractive characters.
But we wanted more than that.
"We want to expand our concepts. Expand our possibilities."
We shared a strong, common feeling.
A lot of game development boils down to adding more elements to a game than the last one, while minimizing costs by making the game a sequel, rather than having to start an entirely new franchise.
It can even be argued from a commercial point of view: Even then, we could put in things you liked, you want to have and remove the things you don't like!
However, there are so many possibilities in the niche category of "Fusion to 3DCG game x adult content", which is what our team is trying to fill.
We do not want to tunnel vision our entire development on just an erotic FPS. There is so much more that needs to be done!
Considering everything stated above, we decided to propose a project that is not RoD's sequel. We have already recruited new members to our team and made a meeting with nine members to talk about what they want.
Perhaps you feel betrayed because there will be no RoD sequel in the near future.
However, we have absolute confidence in our next project. We will promise to present you a game that will exceed all the excitement and impression RoD has caused. And we say this with absolute confidence.I would, by all means, love to see your opinion on our next project.
Thank you for your understanding once again.
