Hello everyone,

I'll start with the most important thing, release date of the next update will be next month. I was hoping to get everything done this month and release it still in 2021, but I can already see it would just lead to more issues and eventually a delayed release. Sorry about this, especially if you were hoping to play it during your holidays. I also have one smaller thing to discuss, based on your comments about minigames and puzzles, I would like to do a poll to see where the majority stands. Plus, it will help me decide whether all minigames should be skippable or potentially lead to some special rewards for completing them.

Thank you for your support and see you next week for the last news in 2021!

I like puzzles much more than minigames personally. Anything reflex-based is much less appealing.

I enjoy both, but get frustrated when they take to much time or to complicated. They shouldn't be the focus of the VN.

Solstorm

I really don't like either, they seem to take away the immersion in the game. If in a game being skippable would be a good option. Remember some who play may be handicapped and mini games shut them out of the game

Boldskull

I like both. But I like the idea to have minigames and puzzles skipable. But if you finish them to reward you something extra, that not nessesery effect games story.

Both are fine but it all depends on how often you have are forced to do a puzzle and or minigame

It depends on the minigame. To me ones with mechanics that feel like it meant for a RPG is silly to put in an AVN. The puzzles in Treasure of Nadia gets away with it because that's not a Renpy-based AVN with just clicking but a hybrid of sorts. If it's sexy (ie an interactive version of spin the bottle where who it lands on is actually random or something), sure. Probably making it optional would be best, since people that don't like minigames shouldn't have to resort to hunting for cheat patches to get gallery unlocks or other rewards. Minigames like some of the ones in Being a DIK are ok (ie didn't frustrate me enough to just skip them, though that was optional I think).

jim freeman

they're okay if they're skippable

i agree and they need to be "meaningfull", otherwise not only are they a chore but they also feel like they are there for the sake of sticking a mni-game in. For example, the fight minigame in MCR, it has meaning,it is well placed but was it really necessary ? wouldn't it be easier for you to just make a binary function that checks stats, abocve threshold you win, below threshold you loose, coupled with a few animations of throwing punches, or just a couple of still "showing" a fight ensue ? And lets not forget the money making in any game that such system is present, even without minigames, when it is just click to go to work, sooner or later you will have to grind the money to get enough for items to progress etc. And so it becomes a chore, noew, add aan actual mnigame for money making, and it will turn out that half your gameplay time is spent on go through a minigame to amke money to progress the game.....

I agree with all above, they should be relevant to the current context, can be skipped and most important; if played there needs to be a reward!!!
