Man, you really do have a way with action. I could almost feel myself forgetting to breath when you described the first five seconds of their match. Also, I could totally imagine various DBZ music playing in the background throughout this story. Ms Lin's implied backstory sounds like it'd be a complex and interesting read someday too.

Thanks as always for the glowing reviews! Lin's backstory is funny 'cause mostly it was to justify why she had this attack that only killed women, but I do think it adds something interesting to think that she was originally on the completely opposite side of the spectrum. You can infer that, once she broke away from her master, a major motivation was to prove him wrong which led to where she is now. I suppose she was due for a bit more depth, with how long she's been a major villain for me now. Those early Akeno/Sherri exchanges were kind of like a more anime take on the old RVD/Lynn sequences. Pretty wild even to this day. I even got to include the crowd rising to their feet after they ended, heh https://i.imgur.com/403ULJJ.gif

Oh hell yeah, I can see what you mean. That sequence is hype as hell. Like you’ve said, it’s amazing how much overlap there is between wrestling and anime. They’re both basically just over-the-top soap operas with extremely hype action to match, and we love both for it. The fact that you add sexy fan service to it as well just naturally adds to the parallels, considering the sexy outfits both wrestlers and anime characters are known to wear.
