Beta The Slave

Oh, I dig that one. It's my fave of the set. Though I have a question, why is brown hair worth so much more than blue? It's kinda weird that the unnatural hair color is worth less than a natural one.

yelop

I'd argue it's anime rule, brightness of hair correlates with promiscuity

Beta The Slave

Then blue would certainly be more promiscuous than brown.

Kinglionheart

Edgar simply likes Brown more than Blue?

Kinglionheart

The side tail is actually pretty tame. Feels like this should have come before the twin tails at least.

Beta The Slave

Totally fair and valid. But doesn't make a ton of mechanical balance sense to have the more boring option be the more degrading mechanically. I'm hoping the hair color gets equalized so that you don't keep getting asked to dye your hair after you go blue

Beta The Slave

It's tier 1. It actually can come before. Since they are the same tier.

Kinglionheart

I can't remember. Can you switch hairstyles? I thought once you accept one hairstyle you don't get other hairstyle requests.

Kinglionheart

Also since looks subtle and tame it should not be on the same level as twin tails and wavy hair. I can see Edgar requesting this just to test the waters and Rean not even questioning the change besides a "Oh you changed your hair". This and maybe a pony tail should be Tier 1. Twin tails and Wavy hair should be Tier 2 feels more natural corruption progression.

aura-dev

Tier 2 is reserved for drill styles.

Was just going through steamdb and saw that SKA has no sales till now? Any plan for getting this game on sale? Honestly, this game could use some sale as sales do increase the traffic to overall game.

Nah, its not like that, its only limited to blonde and its types for gals. But normally they are fine with this color in manga and in reality too. Gal culture was of high school girls breaking the norm and getting "Americanized", that's why you see blonde in media for those tropes. of course gals are referred as more active female character, that's it.

I don't plan to do sales in the near future. Once a game goes on sale, it needs to go on sale often because players take that as the new price point. The issue is that I priced SKA "normally". Usually you would add 20-30% (or whatever sales you want to do) to the price of a product. Then you can do the sales and players feel good about buying the game on a discount even though it's the price the developer would have charged without a sales strategy. For Liora I plan to do better and raise the base price so that I can do sales from the beginning.

Lars

Any chance of blonde or red hair someday for our heroine? If not, totally understandable as I imagine these take forever. But if so, that'd get my vote for potential content someday.

Yes do that. Its a psychological thing about getting a better deal, lets say dev want 20 dollars but price at 30 and launch game at 33% time limited launch day sales you will get more traffic at steam. You can even do 25% sales later and get more money anyways while buyers feel that they got a good deal. For SKA I would suggest to raise the base price by 20-30% and put a discount of 20% in next big sale. This could help the game as even if you don't like it steam is based on sales and highest sellers are always high sale figure games. There is a reason why Cyberpunk 2077 had 50% sale for so many years, even if they are getting less money they are always in top of top sellers almost every single month. That visibility improve the game and studio marketing too.

And for the art, honestly, this art is better than SKA. SKA artist is great in making super hot women but they have too much of an hour glass figure. But this new artist is making balanced characters. Still SKA art is undoubtedly great but I am liking this new direction too.

aura-dev

My idea right now is to slowly increase the base price as the game gets more major updates. (Went from 18 USD to 19 USD in the past) I think doing sales is more valuable when Liora is out since then I have the benefit of also being able to bounce traffic betwen the games.

user120

yeah that could work too. with each major bad end update price increase could work. anyways, do go for sales, steam algorithm favors sales a lot because people like to buy games in discount. i mean, i personally have 700+ games or even more, have i played so many games then? not at all lol, i just bought because i felt they were good deal. others are similar in this regard too.
