A youtube comment under Sasoris Theme: Sasori: A boy who more than anything just wanted his parents to come back home. He waited and waited. Hoping to one day see his parents walking along the horizon, opening their arms for him. As a result he developed a passion that would allow him to recreate them. But he soon realized the puppets he created were hollow. And kept creating more in an attempt to create a puppet alive enough to contain a soul. In hopes of bringing his parents back, forever. Even going as far as to turn himself into a puppet. and finally tired of waiting, allows himself to be killed, so that he may finally be reunited with his parents. Sasori no longer had to wait. Remember what Sasori always told us when Deidara attacked the Sand Village. He hated waiting.

The reason she lied to him and told him to wait was because she just couldn't bare to tell him. It was after Sasori created the mom and dad puppet that she started trying to create this jutsu. But before she could complete it, Sasori left. She intended to use it on the puppets.
