It’s interesting you felt that Katara’s personality changed when I felt like her behavior this episode fit perfectly. She isn’t as childish as the rest of the gang but she is still a child and she got mad over many things throughout the show even when it was a bit unreasonable. And in this case it was her mother’s killer. Also you said it was a bit unrealistic that a random soldier was in the tent taking to their mother but it makes sense. The soldier was the leader of the southern raiders and sokka’s dad was the chief so it made sense to question his wife since she would be a valuable hostage and information device. You said they should’ve talked to the soldiers but that’s impossible to get a conversation because they’re fighting.

I’m sorry but Katara had every right not to trust nor like Zuko up until their field trip after everything he put her through. This is not her first rodeo with him so it makes sense it would take her the longest to forgive. Seems like y’all are only seeing things from Zuko’s perspective

now I am curious about what your language is lol I'm a native Spanish speaker, and actually Avatar helped me A LOT to make my English much better. I was 15 years old when it premiered (back in 2005), and the dub would come sooooo late to Latin America Nickelodeon, that I would actively search for the next episode in the original English, as soon as it was available online, and I learned to watch this series without subtitles. So, yeah, sometimes TV helps you learn a new language.

We're from Eastern Europe, Bulgaria. It was the same with both of us, that's how we learned English as well. Watching tv shows like Vikings, GoT and others.
