TheRealNemesis

You guys know just how to mess up my sleep schedule hah

"Tanaka" is also the most common surname in Japan from what I know, which makes it all the more fitting for him being the embodiment of an average guy. Also to add to your point about staying in the club - Tanaka was the only Karasuno player in the whole series who stayed on the court in all the matches Karasuno played. Think about it

DAIKI🇯🇵

This is one of the most beloved episodes in this show!

OK here comes my thoughts and feelings for this episode on short essay because this episode is THE EPISODE I love the most, so sorry about how long this will be :D First of all, I don't think you kept that thought in the end but you have said that Tanaka might be playing worse because of Kanoka, and I can %100 guarantee you thats not the case. Because Tanaka is not even playing bad? Inarizaki is REALLY talented and they are targeting him, you can also see all the missed spikes there is something going wrong before hand (I remember one of them Kageyama basically admiting the ball was short). Tanaka is presented way worse than actually is because we are basically seeing it from his own perspective when he is getting depressed. Second is the average thing. Yes, if we are putting the standart on Kageyama-Atsumu, Tanaka is average. But he is playing at national team thats going head to head against #2 seed and he belongs to the court. So he is obviously very good player. He is not a high school days of new professional star kind of guy, but I don't agree with the notion of you can find Tanaka in every corner or every team, he is above average on many skills with insane mental edge. Tanaka is portrayed as simple weird high school boy thats obsessed with girls but he said time and time again his heart belongs to Kiyoko. He loves Kiyoko, he tells 2nd years its different than his normal silly self, he tells a girl who is in love with him that his heart belongs to Kiyoko. He states that having a chance or not doesn't matter because love is not calculated, it is what it is, you know? I can't picture a high school kid with this much maturity or how he could handle the situation better. Kanoka knows Tanaka is straight forward and honest, thats why she states "her heart is broken" at the end of the episode, because Tanaka won't just say things, if he is saying his heart is with someone else, there is really no chance. "My average self, do you really have time to look down like that?" is such an inspirational quote, we all need to be more like Tanaka man. I so freaking love this show, Tanaka is awesome, this episode is awesome and you guys are awesome! Glad we could share this joy together! :)

Tanaka is the goat ! He was practising that cut shot since season 2. But when Kanoka said at the end that her heart was broken, it's because she realized that Tanaka is so straightforwared and devoted and so he will not give up keep chasing after Shimizu. Also if u wanna check Haikyuu reactors i recommend Sarah Pavan she's a beach volleyball olympic champion. Her reaction to this episode got 1 million views 😂

Mski & Sisi

Hahaha, I promise it's not on purpose, the idea is always to release them 2-3 hours before 12:00 😭😂

Mski & Sisi

You said it perfectly... thank you for always taking the time to share your thoughts with us 🫶

Sarah Pavan is awesome! I love her reactions to Haikyuu because of her insight into the sport and also her husband's experience as a coach.

I was going to make my own essay about this episode and how special it is to me, but you summed up my feelings perfectly, so thank you, lol.

HCXWinchester

I will always yap about Haikyuu :D < 3

I’m Japanese, but I never thought of that. That’s a really interesting observation.By the way, this is unrelated, “Ryu” (龍) in “Ryunosuke” (龍之介)means “dragon,” and it sounds like a delinquent’s name in Japan lol.

na

he's also the only player to play every play in every match...even Daichi missed time when he got injured
