I find these episodes incredibly interesting as well and it is just said that it worked out his way between Hashirama and Madara. I know most of people hate Tobirama and blame him for what happened, but I think his position is understandable. He clearly did not trust and feared Madara and had all the reasons for that, even the episode when Madara made the ultimatum to Hashirama to kill himself or his brother (when they technically won) would leave a mark, plus all the years of fighting between Uchiha and Senju. I also think that Madara did not put that much effort in earning the trust of the village, even the Uchiha did not want to leave the village with him. And the fact that Madara came back to destroy the village gave Tobirama additional reasons to distrust or even hate him (and Uchihas by extension). I think that the fundamental reason why everything ended the way it did was the lack of trust between Senju and Uchiha due to the very long history of fighting each other and good relationships between Hashirama and Madara were not enough to fix that. Madara and Tobirama feared what each of them could do and it ended up as a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy.

Hey, great reaction as always. These are one of the most interesting episodes of the show. I do disagree on some things, if I even understood u right. Hashirama may have wanted a world where there's no fighting, but his explicit goal was that kids wouldnt die young and in war. Which is literally what happened mostly. In this war right now no one is really younger then 15 and most are just adults. Compared to a world where 7 years old kids were dying left and right. The world is much a better place, although not perfect. Smaller countries still suffer bc of the greed of bigger countries just like in the real world and u have some infighting inside countries. Now this is the problem Naruto is supposed to deal with. To build upon the imperfections of Hashirama's goal. It could be things like when theres conflict, lets not fight in smaller countries territories and instead in neutral grounds, rules against attacking medics, rules against developping mass weapons etc. Just like after world wars in real life a lot of things considered normal in wars have become illegal. Right now as trash as the world still is, if a country just decided to eradicate another country, thered be consequences for said nation. Thats one reason a lot conflicts are indirect, bc we have rules. My comment is already too long, but in the context of the naruto story there being at least temporary ''world peace'' after this war (which just means significantly less conflict then theres was before ) is not a cop out. I think actually itd be weird if the five kages who literally just risked their life for each other, would become petty a week after this war. Instead of truly trying to trust each other now since they seen each others gut to an extent. Would this happen in the real world. Probably not. But in the real world we dont have our presidents bleeding together side by side in the first place. Id suspect things would be different if they did. Finally I think Naruto's message is just to hope for a better world, to endure and not become so jaded and think things cant get better. Whatever better means for people in different situations. We shouldnt become jaded like Obito and Madara. For example as a black person myself living in europe, things got better for us here and it wasnt by accident. It was bc people fought for a btter´tomorrow. Just like Naruto and Hashirama. Thats what I mean about the show giving hope , especially for young kids, but also to jaded adults.

Madara awakened the normal mangekyo when both him and izuna killed the ones closest to them as seen in the backstory that itachi showed sasuke but the eye thing with where madara took izunas eyes is told in a very misleading way imo. At first in the itachi backstory it looked like Izuna was surprised by madara taking the eyes, then in the story that madara/tobi told sasuke, he said that Izuna gave him the eyes willingly and now in this backstory we saw tobirama injuring izuna and we dont even see if madara took the eyes before or after he died. That story could have been displayed a little better but yeah it is what it is
