Hello, friends. Drew here. I recently shared an AI image of "Deb if she were young" that was messaged to me. It was pointed out in the comments that this type of image is taking jobs from real artists. I definitely agree that AI does that. Andrea and I have even turned down a lucrative brand deal that promoted such professional use of AI. I thought (incorrectly) that this type of use - a fun "what if" picture of young Deb - was an exception. I'm sorry for my misjudgment. I take responsibility for the error, and I appreciate those of you who pointed it out and truly apologize for letting you down.

No need to apologize drew! I thought the young Deb AI concept was really cool :)

Avery

Thanks for your apology we all learn and move on your fine my dude

Niamh

we love you drew thank you

Addison

it was pure and fun intentions <3 no harm no foul!

annie

it’s all good 🌷 thank you guys for acknowledging it ,!don’t worry!!

Rosemary May

Crazy that you have to apologize for sharing a funny picture

leonna juarez

mad extra. the photo was a fun little concept and yall always post small creators post. people are annoying

spooki

you’re so accountable, thank you for being a content creator who listens 🫶🏻 if this is the worst ‘scandal’ you get into, you’re doing amazing. thank you for all of the content and stepping up when it was hard! have a great day :)

Ken Forman

Common Drew W Live and learn! We appreciate all you and Andrea do!

lila grace

you did the right thing addressing the issue!!

Pastelle Pallet

Thank you for the apology! As an artist, AI has been such a detriment to the industry. A lot of people see AI generated people as passable, but in reality, all AI has a serious impact. A 10 paragraph generation on chatGPT requires 13 gallons of water to cool down the servers. So thank you again for this apology. 🙏🏼

Alien

Everyone se sensitive its not that deep ??

MittenTroll

Thank you for the apology! While a fun little "what if" doesn't seem harmful the impact on artists and the environment is still there so thank you for talking about it and bringing awareness!!!

funeralpyre333

That was fast. All that matters is you take it into consideration and try your best to not promote AI. It's hard in this day and age, sometimes you can't even tell something is made with AI. It not only takes people's jobs but it's horrible for the environment. Thankyou Drew!

Colin

We know you didn't mean harm drew :)

sagesburning69

Glad to see you didnt cave like so many others do, as an artist and creative myself it sadness me that my work and other being stolen for training purposes. Just because we make a mistake doesn't mean we can not correct. Glad to see that y'all did.

Yenj

we love you drew, glad you're understanding!!

Riley F.

I think it was a fun idea, but I think it could be super cool if you commission an artist! It supports human jobs and may take away the uncanny aspect a bit

Nevaeh Blomberg

I didn’t see the picture but it seems like some people are a little sensitive. One picture made by AI is not gonna kill an artists career.

Izzy Papacek

Hey man as an artist myself I appreciate the accountability! Mistakes and misunderstandings happen! We all learn better and move on, no hard feelings!

NotKids Phone

My genuine laugh out loud when I saw ai young deb apology was worth all of it😂😂😂

Audree

It’s OK Drew I still like the idea of you trying your best if you want can you use my drawings as an example on TikTok? I love your content so much and I have been working on some characters fan art my username is Roll_tide805805 on TikTok

Ashley Wilkes

The thing about the internet is, you can’t make everyone happy. Do what you feel is best and go from there. Always remember this, if Jesus couldn’t make everyone happy, why do you think you can? Keep posting your wonderful content

Cecilia

Thank you both for coming out and addressing it. I don’t feel strongly about it either way but I know other creatives do. So keep on being amazing you two

Kanaan Collins

Okay sure AI "steals jobs" from artists, but like you're the artist using it as a tool to have fun with your art. Far as I understand that is approved usage for llms in the art space

Genie

Sh*t happens. You had no ill intent. You're not that kinda guy. We all know that. No worries...

Julie

Sure if an artist had painted a picture or done a photo shoot of a “young deb,” then that would’ve been preferable to the AI image, but considering nobody’s done that I think this was completely harmless. Literally did not take a job away from anybody, and was an example of what AI can do. I don’t understand why people think a view about AI has to be all or nothing.

moogle

❤️❤️

Dyesee

I appreciate that you're taking accountability for it after being educated on how bad AI is :)

JThom529

It honestly did put a bitter pit in the stomach when it happened but I appreciate you owning up.

Amber Ronzitti

These are new territories. I have close friends who are creatives and see both sides of the conversation. Your post educating your supporters who may be unaware and apologizing for the unintentional slight is admirable.

Brooklyn

Thank you Drew:( honest mistake on your part! Thank you for addressing it and not just ignoring it like so many other creators do! Love u!

Maria Kudryavtseva

People are just way too dramatic. It’s a fun use of AI. Come on guys, it’s literally a guy in his 40s dressed up as different characters and someone made a younger female version of him. Are we for real?

connie

I am not an artist in that sense, I can't draw to save my life, but my understanding is that is you aren't taking a job away from a human being then it doesn't really matter. In other words, since you weren't looking to commission a drawing of young Deb, it's not like you chose AI over a human. In any case, there will always be someone out there willing to criticize your decisions, so my take is that as long as you know you weren't intentionally taking work from an artist, it's not really a mess up on your part. I'm sure that there are some who would disagree with me, but this is just my personal opinion.

Selemundo

I missed it. Didn’t even get to see the photo. Should’ve clicked on it when I got the notification to see what all the noise is about.

rena frye

Although I have the ai image in my email from the patron notification, I feel like it's not my place to be spreading that type of content around. I'm glad you took ownership of your mistake, even if many people think it makes you "soft". Thank you Drew for all the hard work you do and hopefully a BH fan will draw fanart of young deb because that is actually something I'd kill to see 😊

skewed vision

It is a big topic of debate. Personally, I don't think you did anything wrong in this case. It was a fun "what if," not a serious job that an artist would've been given. I say that as someone with an art background and a BFA, who's staunchly against use of AI.

Twisted Tales

It's literally fine. It's a little fake image. I hate this thing where everyone has to apologize for absolutely nothing. You're allowed your opinion, but that's literally it. It's YOUR opinion. It wasn't a professional piece, it was a bit of fun and everyone does it.

Nerdi Fly

Tldr; I don't know how to email you directly. But, this is my experience with AI... Also, that example was not a particularly unique one to begin with :/ But, if there is a way to get in touch with you, (not convince you of anything AI related) —let me know ✌️ I appreciate the apology. Perhaps there is a place where these creations can be shared or even pointed to in a special collection, if someone were willing to take the time to collect them. I dabble in AI art as a hobby. I have no desire to make money off of it, and have several friends who are artists and graphic artists who were steadfastly against AI when I met them. Once I started crating images for them, just for fun... They saw how much effort and work it took. Because I do not use anything but wordsmithing to create my images (none of the really intense models like Stable Diffusion, Mid Journey, etc) —I researched all of them to get a better understanding, and applied what I could to my basic "feed 400 words into a prompt" method. This as before chatgpt could do this. I've had others steal my work and say "well, it isn't really yours, and you just put some words into chat gpt right?" —no. I have never used chatpgt... When I create images, I spent hours. I create anywhere from 75-250 images to get the feeling, colors, most minute details right. And if there's words? I don't add them with Photoshop... I make the AI do it. Which is NOT easy, even in 2025. (depending on the words.) My brother has been an artist (a professional one) since high school and he loves noodling around with AI... he never uses it for profit, but he enjoys seeing if a machine could possibly produce what his own hand could from the same thing his brain comes up with. I have had people tell me, "Wow, I mean, I understand that my job isn't exactly I jeopardy because most of this is still in a commercial sector I don't work in, and I can see the applications for character development, especially when you get stuck or if you're working on a project that you just can't seem to get going." Most ethical AI supporters will tell you, it is a TOOL... I even talked to Gemini about a story I was working on and it was VERY clear about reminding me that AI is just a tool, etc, which I appreciated... The first time I became frustrated with AI Images was a certain vendor on Etsy. I saw a cute cottagecore mushroom calendar. Then I saw an unfortunate print on a mug and thought "Oh... I could do that." It took me 60 seconds to open the site I use, plug in the words, hit generate, and create almost the exact same thing. THAT was the first time I wanted to scream about it... These people selling mugs and calendars for $15/pop (in two locations internationally) and with ZERO talent. Not all AI is bad. However, I understand where you have to keep your brand at. I do think there is room for all types of creative outlets. It was not a particularly creative AI, though. It looked very generic, I must say. It caused me to go and (not using AI) create a young Deb (just not at Bistro Huddy)

Ray

Thanks for apologising and taking it down. I think most people knew you weren't coming from a bad place posting it, but AI really is just so damaging regardless of whether it's losing people money. It's really cool how much you guys interact with fanart, cosplay, etc, and I think it's always going to feel like a slap in the face for people who put hours of work into something purely out of love for stuff like that to get the same attention. That's not even touching on the ways AI is wrecking the enviroment and the internet as a whole. I can't speak for everyone but I'm just so tired of seeing and hearing about it.

Henri

I was a little nervous, I love your content and I didn’t want to see this start to fill up with AI content. I know just one AI image won’t make a big impact for actual artists, but there’s a lot of art made by real artists that get neglected over this one you decided to post. And any AI requires so much energy and water to cool. Anyway I just appreciate the acknowledgement of the harm AI can cause

Naomi M

HELL YEAH!!!

Richelle

AI is great. I'm looking forward to all the free time I'm going to have when the AI robots are doing all our work. The Luddites will just have to get over it.

Katherine

As an artist, I don’t think these uses of AI would be bad, if they weren’t a gateway to much worse. In an ideal future, there will be comfortable uses of AI, for fun things like this, or as a tool for real artists.

Gwen

I never saw it and I’m curious- not judgmental. As a Patreon subscriber can I access it in any way?

Merri-gal

Good for you and Andrea. I hope a Patreon artist posts a young Deb pic so we can applaud.

Maddie Ryskov

Not only is AI based on theft from artist, it’s also harmful to the environment. The computing needed to create AI is high, so they also need to cool down the servers more. They are using fresh water to do that and many places where there are data centres, water is being taken away from normal people to feed the data centres. People have restricted access to water so other people can use AI. It’s not just funny images, it has a price. I’m happy you took it down.

Andy Ritzert

Don't see what the problem is. If I can ask an AI bot for a youthful pic of Deb and get fun results right away, then what's the harm in that? I'm not an artist. I don't know photoshop.

Lauren Churchill

You can use my "likeness." I ran bars and restaurants for 30 years. No AI, and nothing fake about me. Including the fact that I'm an "aged-out" bartender and I don't take s^^^ cause I'm a mama Bear too.

goodi2shooz

You didn't let us down.. Don't let them tell you otherwise, Some people are just looking to be offended by everything, You didn't do a single thing wrong. I'm really sick and tired of the anti AI thing.

Nadia Anslinger

we love you and i appreciate this response so much ❤️

izzy

we love you thank you!!

Maeve

it’s okay drew! we’re glad your recognise the mistake and have taken the time to become educated on the matter. much love to you and andrea! ❤️

Romi🇨🇭

Some people are way too sensitive...

atlas

the people supporting ai are so :/ like even if generative ai is being used for personal use only, it STILL has significant negative impact on the environment and generative ai is still actively stealing from actual artists. EVEN IF you aren’t selling it, that doesn’t mitigate the environmental harm or the fact that you are helping train ai to steal from artists who are not consenting to their art being drawn. calling people “sensitive” for being upset is essentially calling people sensitive for having an issue with environmental harm. “not all AI is bad” sure, there are definitely times that the benefits of AI may outweigh the consequences (like the AI that may be able to detect early stages of cancer), the unnecessary damage to the environment to generate one picture for ‘fun’ is absolutely NOT worth it. “why do you have to apologize for one fun photo”, is one ‘fun photo’ worth even more co2 emissions?

Rocket the Wonder Weimie

Some people need to take a day off and just chill! You don't need to apologize! The people who complained need to check themselves and think about all the other things that they could potentially complain about right now and reevaluate their priorities.

Ruby Child

I am an artist, and I support many artists here and elsewhere. I have no problem with this fun use of AI. Obviously you weren't going to hire an artist to do a portrait of young Deb, so no jobs were taken from anyone. We cannot stop the tide of AI, so we need to find ways to make it productive for all of us. Just trying to avoid it will do no one any good. In short, You're good Drew! No worries!

Claire P

Thanks for willing to learn, appreciate it a lot! Generative AI is stealing and harmful for the environment, nothing about those is fun at all. Human-made art, on the other hand, sparks joy and creativity. I really hope people who are too comfy using generative AI for whatever reason are willing to learn the genuine negative impacts. Even the little "funsies" are not worth destroying the earth. Create, don't scrape. Any human can create as long as they are willing to do it. And Drew is one of the prime examples of it because man can create a whole universe with just a phone, green screen, wigs, and a brilliant mind.

Julia

It’s okay Drew you recognized it, but never think for a second that you let us down!

JoAnna Thomas

sorry to say but just like blockbuster needed to keep up with the times so do artists… not saying your work isn’t appreciated but if it’s able to be mimicked for less you need to find something else. please continue to do content in any means necessary, and if AI can produce your content then so be it.

Craig JCee

No need to apologise! It’s just a bit of fun. Would you apologise to an electrician for wiring your own plug?

Cel :)

This is an amazing apology Drew and it would be great in the future to maybe see you work with one of the incredible Bistro Huddy fan artists I've seen all over social media :) As an artist (though not a bistro Huddy one), it's horrible to have your work stolen and devalued, an issue that was already quite prevalent before AI even came along but is now happening tenfold. There is also the environment issues surrounding AI that make me really concerned about the use of it. I know there's many comments under here supporting the 'tool' but I beg you to ignore it; I feel they completely overlook the very real and valid issues with AI. But again, thank you for such a good and concise apology, definitely one of the more real feeling ones on the internet

Duan Cheston

It's never that serious if someone wanted to draw young deb they would've done it already i appreciate your content you are hilarious ❤️

Manuel Villarreal

Ugh. These pearl-clutchers who aren't even creating art of their own need to calm down. It sounded like an interesting and/or funny photo.

Ohno

As an artist we are so tired of large creators using AI and not understanding the ramifications. AI is not only bad that it steals from artists, in fact, it's also terrible for the environment. I encourage the others in this comment section not to just brush it off and say it's a 'harmless use'. AI is unethical! Thank you so, so much for the apology!

sardine

Thank you so much for understanding that AI is wrong and taking down the image ❤️ AI is not only awful for artists, it's terrible for the environment. But I will admit it was kind of hilarious seeing "AI Deb! Apology for AI Deb" in my notifications lol

Xanity

It's not really a big deal

NY SKATEQUEEN Skate Queen

AI is in fact here and it will be changing the way everyone does business. I dont want an apology.

James

I don’t think you need to apologise for using an AI to show a once off age up or age down for a character. Generative AI is certainly impacting artists but this kind of pearl clutching needs to met with common sense

Clara Berg

I enjoyed it. I think it can be fun for things like seeing a possible character idea. A real artist still 100% can do their own rendition as well and I'd enjoy seeing both. Its just fun to see the possibilities either way. I don't understand people being upset about that. I didn't see anything wrong with a silly little what if post.

Lisa Abbott 🌿

Was an artist interested in making the image though? I think it's fine to use AI when it's doing something a person isn't.

Jessapphire

I wish I would have saw it! You could have used it to encourage an art submission for young Deb. Like "Draw your version of young Deb and the one that Andrea and I (or fan vote) likes the best gets a free t-shirt or coupon..." Or something. 🙂

JulyAries

Sounds like you provided a great prompt for some artists out there…oh, and proof that you are indeed human (not ai) 💙

Holly Brehmer

It's not the end of the world. No need to apologize.

Monique

Please don’t feel that you have to apologize!

Noah

It’s…a quick AI image of a character you made. No artists job was threatened by it. No need to apologize to anyone brother.

kawaiirun

thank you for listening to people's feedback and apologising! it's very heartening to see a creator willing to take responsibility and stand against AI. to those who say it doesn't matter or it's not a big deal, aside from the moral implications, generative AI is hugely damaging to the environment! it's entirely unnecessary to use and easy to cut out in these cases. this is something we should all care about.

Christy Gaskill

Oh my God, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of I hate to say it, but AI is here to stay whether we like it or not along with lots of other things and technology . The fact that People came at you about this just further proves that people are absolutely ridiculous.

Christy Gaskill

Who’s the person that said it’s terrible for the environment , I know people have really lost their minds now

Christy Gaskill

Boy, you guys are really blowing this out of proportion

c r

So someone is going to make their own rendition of Young Deb for us? What artists are these silly apps taking jobs from? My god, I don’t even know what to say.

Lila Carter

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal! It was still a cool picture!

Pam Flanagan

AI has good and bad points. We're all trying to figure it out as we go along. Are there any artists out there willing to try making a picture of young Deb? I hope someone does!

Dan

It is not that big a deal. You haven´t let anyone down, you were just having fun. But, there are awesome artists out there willing to draw your characters

Hope G

It's all good

Ali Diaz

i know everyone is giving the “you have nothing to apologize for” spiel but as an artist myself, i’ll say that i super appreciate the fact that bistro huddy will stray away from AI! i see many cool artists on twitter and tiktok that LOVE your content and put that love into fanart for you! keep up the great work drew and andrea! 🫶

Rebecca Haynes

Thank you for the thoughtful post! I'll be honest, it always disappoints me to see AI generated images, as an artist concerned with the current issues of how AI generates the images / the devaluation of other artist's work, and also as just someone who doesn't like how we can't be certain what's 'real' anymore on the internet with deepfakes etc aah. Also have heard each image-generation takes a lot of energy and is bad for the environment (I know literally everything we do does, but still). Anyway, I knew you didn't mean anything bad by it and it was a fan's send-over, but appreciate this thoughtfulness to your fans on a contentious topic!! ❤️ keep being amazing - we all love your work.

Dean Gonzalez

Drew, maybe its time to get a moderator for the aggressive comments. Those belong on YouTube, not here on Patreon. If we are paying for this content, it is because we are a fan of your content, I would hope. And if one person uses AI to create something to express their love for your creation, it is just that. I for one would like this to be a safe place. There are many other things going on in the world to advocate towards and against and AI is pretty low on that list.

Johanna Trahan

OMG, no one was asking for a commission to do a photo of Young Deb. Ignore anyone stupid enough to make this about AI taking things from artists... if anything, THEY'RE taking something from YOU.

Sandra

I missed it 😔

spooki

Honestly I have a southern twang and I def could pull off young Deb I might have to

ams

I personally think there should be no issue with using "AI" moderately, this kind of disruption is nothing new and inevitable. Sad to hear many artists are blocking new form of creativity. Hopefully we still can keep cars and trains, because actually it's sad to take away jobs of horse carriage drivers T.T

BlackCat

This is how an apology is done - taking ownership of the mistake, apologizing, and thanking those who pointed it out. Even if some don't think it necessary, there is a great example here of someone being responsible.

BlackCat

For all who have asked what artists have done any fan art need only search online for "Bistro Huddy Fan Art". Be sure to click the tumblr links you find, as there are plenty there. Deviant Art has a few.

Shawn

Thank you for this apology! I felt disheartened when I saw the original post and I have a lot of respect for you two for taking it down and addressing it so quickly.

Kelly Sturek

No worries. You two always do a great job with it all.

Hoshi

its totally chill dude.

Matthew

AI is taking this job among many others. It is what it is. Get over it

Julia

Show us Tick and Bridgette's first date and we'll forgive you 😉

Bree Paez

Wow I’m so sorry you felt the need to apologize for this. I’ll be the first to shit on AI cuz I do think it’s getting out of control but a simple picture that literally anyone could’ve created is not stealing jobs from artists.

cindy powers

I don’t use AI but it is not for any of the reasons mentioned here. Also it does not matter if you use it or don’t, there are plenty of other people who are going to whether you like it or not? There is a predestined end to this world and nothing is going to change that. If you want to bitch at someone about it don’t harass the puny users, because that’s like changing the position of a needle in a haystack. You want to make a difference, you want to see a change, then you need to be out there protesting against the creators and the companies who are doing it. But that requires more than just typing some you’re doing something wrong spearhead on the internet huh? Everyone apologizes for crazy reasons these days and if you think those apologies are real then you’re stupid. Of course people are going to type a few paragraphs or make a little video two appease the fans so they can keep getting paid. All the while thinking how stupid it is that they have to do it. Use common sense. I hope you all feel validated now.

Crow

Hey man, just wanted to say that I respect the choice to listen and apologize to your audience. Going beyond the argument of wether or not the use of AI in this case was a moral one it takes a strong character to acknowledge and apologize for a mistake. Best of luck to you on your future endeavors and thank you for the continued content!

Glenn T and Bob O.

Use all the AI that you want. Save your money and use AI. Don’t let people bully you. Be creative through AI. as AI forever. Let’s see everyone’s younger version via AI

Anna C

I think using AI to age a fictional character for a fun patreon post is probably still in within my acceptable AI use-cases, like if you were messing around with filters on snapchat or whatever... If you were doing a Deb's young life episode and decided to use it, then maybe, yeah... hire a younger actor or a make up artist or something, but a fun snap, that's fine in my opinion. I don't want it to create for us, but I don't mind if it's used to enhance someone's creative vision alongside real people talent and toil.

silviah!

it's really cool of you to step up and apologize. a simple ai picture isn't the end of the world, but its very important to acknowledge how much more important human artists and encouraging them is <3

Jude H

The amount of people defending AI use in this comment section… pathetic.

Hi Ima person

You’re good dude! Maybe instead you could commission or hold a contest for your characters to be drawn? Winner gets a shoutout or something artists love that. I know, I am one.^^

c r

These comments are all the same bot.

Captain Arrow

I feel like a lot of these people commenting saying your forgiven or you are all good aren’t artists… I really appreciate you owning up and apologizing. I’m a disabled artist and I personally hate AI in any form. I will say I forgive you personally since you only did it once and are now apologizing and not going to do it again. I would highly recommend an art contest or commissioning artist for the future. You’ll get better results without having to make a mockery of art. Wishing you the best!!

Jude

I’m a professional artist. Drew, I’m not offended at all. Art means that you can express yourself however you want to. If they arent offended by CGI or digital music they can “shut the #%^* up and get the €£¥• outta my kitchen.” You put whatever YOU want on YOUR account. This artist stands behind you.

BigBirdTitty

This comment section is foul and unhinged. Seeing one person use racist dog whistles and then another actively advertising that they have saved and are distributing Drew's Patreon posts all because they are too triggered by an apology is literally insane. These people have to be children to not understand that if the an apology isn't directed at you than you have no right to speak on it.

Shannon Rice

It was all in good fun. This is your art that we all enjoy. Using AI to generate a picture of a character you created seems ok to me.

Jessica Clements

Is the ART the concept - or the activity of making it? I SUCK at physically making art - especially 2D drawings - but my concepts are unique and wholly my own - how come I have to go to someone else to make MY art?

Liv

Thank you drew. The amount of people defending AI "art" in these comments is disgusting.

kate

As an artist, I think ai, is horrible, BUT if you don't know the effects and use it its okay. If you've been educated and still do, then that's when you've messed up. You didn't even generate it they did. They're the one who messed up. Plus this entire channel is your creative product, you doing that out does the ai. Sad you had to make an apology but good on you. Love your videos!

August Yassine

Thank you for learning Drew. Your apology is super well informed and I wish you the best! Your content rocks!!

Emma Grace

I think we are at the very beginning of decades of grappling with the ethics of AI, and I think it’s fully understandable that everyone is not on the same page yet. It’s clear you care about and support real human art and weren’t being malicious. I truly wouldn’t have known either, just as a funny ‘what if’ post.

cindy powers

I just honestly think that half the world has gone crazy! I don’t use AI because I am against it but attacking someone that posts an AI picture that someone else sent them is nuts. It’s not like he posted a picture of a naked child! Some people are sure acting like he did. I’m starting to dislike people more than I already do.

Nona

I don't even get who had the audacity to call drew out for something that isn't even wrong at all???

Ivy Cohernour

Sorry people were so mean about this and I respect you extra for being so classy in the face of it and still doing what’s right.

Cindy Schnekenburger

That is some of the goofiest s$#t I've ever heard someone apologize for. Ya'll have to stop coddling these people. Ya'll are full grown adults your not hurting ANYONE you why should you have to apologize for doing something you though was fun. You didn't kill a puppy or tell someone their baby is ugly for God's sake. I'm sorry to you that people are so petty.

Heather Fortney-Harrell

As an artist who sells my art, I do not like where AI is going as far as movies and real life stuff, however, this is a fictitious person. and you used AI to recreate a factious younger pic. The people who complained seem to have never used any filers ever on their apps. That technically AI and as long as you are representing that it is AI then I think it is fine. But who am I?

cindy powers

So Ai is very harmful to the environment. What about your cell phones? Are you ready to throw them out? Your computers too? Because they are putting out harmful radiation that ACTUALLY harms people physically. Towers that make you buzz when you get close to them. And what about your toilets? garbage? Food waste? Cars and factories polluting the water and air? You going to stop being consumers all together? You can’t pick and choose what to be righteous about. You’re only upset because you think it’s affecting your pocketbook. Using the environment as an excuse when you’re typing on something that is actually doing more harm. Yes I am aware of the issue with AI but it’s only a pinprick of the entire problem and until everyone is willing to throw away all their conveniences than they should just stop complaining about a particular one they have a problem with. It’s too convenient though to pick apart what others are doing than to look into what you might be doing yourself. Especially when you believe you need it to survive.

LGhetto

Man people take their fake causes too far and force it on people who are public facing. You weren't selling merch with ai art on it or anything. I don't think a fake picture of a fake person is going to ruin anyone's career.

Ash - B

Thank you. I want to see AI highly regulated, or better yet, banned.

Eden

Would you have paid someone to make the image if not for Ai? No? Then you did nothing wrong. If you used the image for merch or would have otherwise paid an artist for it, then yes it's wrong. Ai art for personal use or to share with your community IS fine, just as long as it stays for personal use that isn't monetized. Ai has a place in the world, it's not going away. Shaming people for interacting in any way with Ai won't make it go away. People need to come to terms with the fact that Ai exists and is a tool that can and will be used more going forward. I'm an artist, and I have long accepted this fact. I even use Ai sometimes to help me plan out ideas before I actually draw them. Like any tool, Ai isn't the problem. It's how people use it.

But it is an exception! Your intent was to show us a funny picture. It’s not like you chose the AI art over an artist’s work. If that were the case, I’d feel differently. Plus, I’ve seen you give shoutouts to your very talented artist fans.

Thanks for being such a class act about this. AI is terrible for real artists, and it's putting a lot of very talented creatives out of work. Appreciate you owning up to the misstep and supporting people who (like yourself) are putting their best creative foot forward.
