Site Updates - Badges, Feet Pic Gacha & Tags! (Patreon)

Another review, and here comes a big update that I feel many of you will be thrilled about!

Badges

Most of you have probably seen Badges slowly popping up in your Patron Profile. Now that the infrastructure has been fully reviewed and implemented, you'll see a big increase in Badges across the board. Badges may be purely cosmetic, grant a one-time amount of Footprints, or even provide permanent boosts to your voting power and daily Footprint collection.

Especially for long-time patrons, you'll find some specific badges that have landed in your profile. Try to collect as many as you can, and keep an eye out for Secret badges that can be obtained just from interacting around the website 😉 There'll also be a few Event-exclusive badges which will be super important soon… Stay tuned!

Feet Pic Gacha

The star of this update and finally a new way to use your Footprints! In the first 3 years of my Patreon, I ran Feet Pic of the Week instead of the current Feet Vid of the Week. A lot of this is historical content now, and I wanted to bring it back in a fun way.

This is accessible in your Patron Profile and costs 10 Footprints per spin (5 per spin if you’re a Personal Insole!) I've sorted them into various pools (such as Soles, Toes, Stockings, and Stirrups) so you can narrow it down to get a hit of whatever you're feeling. For now, you can only spin up to 10 times a day due to rate limits.

Tags Update

Clickable Tags: Find similar works even faster! If you’d like to quickly access a tag, you can now click it inside the modal to immediately filter for similar tags. This is akin to the system Pixiv has!

Tag Proposal: While I've spent an extraordinary amount of time tagging all my works individually, there's always the possibility that I missed a tag or two. If you ever spot anything among your favourite works that you think could use an extra tag for visibility, please use the newly added 'Propose Tag' feature within the modals!

Tag System Improvements: On top of this, I’ve done some additional refinements to the tag system so you can hopefully refine your search even more.

General Improvements

Grid Display: Desktop-only for now, you can now set works to be displayed in rows of 2 (current default), 3, or 4. This is purely a preference feature to help you curate your experience even better. I personally like how it looks with 3 per row!

Site Optimisation: Improved the order in which certain file types load upon accessing the site. You should see an overall improvement in loading speeds and your browsing experience!

Hoping you’ve all been enjoying watching the site improve over time. I still have a lot more plans, with the next big update hopefully incorporating the Patreon shop.

Thanks again and stay tuned, everyone!

PS - Should I be referring to these as patch notes from now on 🤣?
