Katara and Sokka found him when he was twelve. It seems long ago but it’s only been a few months. Because the comet comes at summers end. Less than a year from that point. Before he’s 13. Though TECHNICALLY he is 112. If you consider the frozen time lapse.

You guys cry with the first episode?!?!?! You guys have no idea what you're getting yourself into. 😊😊😊

Great reaction! Katara’s voice actor really nailed that emotional scene with her father. I hope you guys have a happy thanksgiving!

As Michelle747 mentions above, I know it feels like it's been a lot longer but in the Avatar universe it's only been a few months from Book 1 to 3. The seasons are even reflected in each book with Winter in Bk 1 Water, Spring in Bk 2 Earth, & Summer in Bk 3 Fire. In Book 1 (ep.8) during the Winter Solstice Avatar Roku tells Aang that he must defeat the Fire Lord before the return of Sozin's Comet at Summer's end. In Book 2 we see the emergence of Spring (ep. 8 'The Chase') as Appa is shedding & Azula uses this to hunt the gang. And in Book 3, well, you'll just have to wait & see. Things really heat up 😉😊

Azula could tell from her conversation with Zuko that Zuko was lying about there being no way Aang could have survived, and immediately informed their father that HE killed Aang. This episode does an amazing job with parallels and contrasts: Zuko and Aang, Hakoda and Ozai, and the creators confirmed that they designed Ozai to look like an adult Zuko if he hadn't gotten scarred.

Princess Yue is now the Moon Spirit, and she “pushed” the ocean to make an even bigger wave to help Aang.
