If things seem out of place between this episode and the last, there is an episode special called The Runaway Bride. It focuses on that red haired women who showed up in the TARDIS at the end of season 2's finale.

The specials are important, especially when a companion's just left. They are: After season 1: "The Christmas Invasion" After season 2: "The Runaway Bride" After season 3: "Time Crash" (optional, but it's short and fun so you may as well)) and "Voyage of the Damned) After season 4: "The Next Doctor," "Planet of the Dead," "The Waters of Mars," The End of Time" (two parts) After season 5: "A Christmas Carol", "Space" and "Time" (these two are like Time Crash, but they go together so watch both or neither) After season 6: "The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe" After season 7, episode 5: "The Snowmen" After season 7: "The Day of the Doctor," "The Time of the Doctor" After season 8: "Last Christmas" After season 9: "The Husbands of River Song" and "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" After season 10: "Twice Upon a Time"

I really think you should go back and do The Runaway Bride - it's one of those episodes that you kinda need to get full context for some later events. When looking for the episodes they're normally referenced as 3x00 before 3x01 etc

I completely agree with Jane, I really like Martha more than Rose. I found her to be a far more unique companion. I found Rose's treatment of Mickey incredibly rude, along with her on again, off again, thing with both Doctor's extremely annoying after a time. However a lot of Who fans dislike Martha, unfairly I think, seeing she directly follows Rose. Martha however is her own character and like Mickey deserves more appreciation in the fandom, so hopefully you guys will like her as well ^-^

At the time, I really didn't like Martha, but revisiting her arc watching a few different reactors has changed my opinion completely (also I really enjoy the life Freema Agyeman brings to Aminata in Sense8 too, which has won me over as a fan of her generally). I genuinely think (without saying TOOO much about her) she is the most independent and most trustworthy of all the companions of modern Who. She has to deal with a shitload of stuff that I don't feel Rose or some of the future companions could have done.
