This Speech by the Doctor, to this day brings chills, it was the culmination of a young nerdy kid who watched a show about a dude in a box, traveling through time and space.

The date on the tombstone is the date that Rose first ran into the 9th Doctor (first episode "Rose", with the Plastic killing machines, that like pizza.) There may be a connection?

Here is and will always be my issue with this episode, after that speech, the episode has to end, you don't mic drop and then go back to pick up the mic. Clara's speech was well done and delivered, it made sense in the context of the episode.......but it followed that speech. Your review may have changed my mind. I now rate this higher because of that,, thank you!!!!!

Loved your reaction to this episode, guys, it's one of my personal favourites. To answer your question: the Doctor's granddaughter, "Susan", was one of his first three companions in his first incarnation during the Classic series. He left her behind on 22nd century Earth when she fell in love with a human man. Although she hasn't been seen in the new series, she did appear in the "Five Doctors" special during the Classic series and has appeared in spin-off media, where she was recruited to fight in the Time War. Her fate has yet to be revealed.

Great Reaction. Like above said Grandaughter named susan. Was his very first companion back with the 1st doctor in 1963. I know this from a friend i haven't seen the classics but apparently she got left behind because she fell in love and the 1st doctor said he would return but never did. I don't view spin offs as canon so i doubt she alive although the actors still alive.

I think this is so underrated as an episode. I enjoy it. And you guys seemed to REALLY like it. Surprised how much you've loved Season 7 as for me, it's an average season!
