Oh, boy! We're finally at the original, the zeitgeist that started it all!

Koala

Shame you didnt watch Rogue One but that's ok

sean k

3 years between episodes 2 and 3

Temba His Arms Wide

I never noticed that Obi-wan saying "Hello there" in episode 3 was a callback. I love that.

Koala

[For JV only] It also kinda works between 6 and 7. The OT will be fresh in Jane's mind so going back to Rogue One isn't a big leap (as compared to watching it after 9). Watching it before 7 reminds the audience (Jane) of how badass Darth Vader was and how scary the Empire was, which sets up Kylo Ren's obsession with Vader and the impact of the ruined Star Destroyers in 7. Seeing the Death Star again also sets up Starkiller base.

SEEJANEGOTV

Yeah that's true. Rogue one fixed Vader for me. I finally got to see why he was so feared. Love that seen

Koala

When I introduce people to Star Wars I always start with Rogue One followed by the OT, entirely because of that Vader scene. It sets up not only his character, but just how powerful and scary Force-users are in general. Plus the audience gets the perspective that regular people are fighting a very serious war, but there are rare individuals (Jedi/Sith) that can absolutely demolish with lightsabers and magic.

Obi Wan does remember R2D2, he says he "never owned a Droid" and thats the truth, R2ยดs belonged to the Republic ;) Also the "before you were born" could be seen as a hint, something like "Well some clones blew me of a cliff two days before you were born." so technicaly Obi Wan died falling of that cliff

SEEJANEGOTV

Haha yeah. Watching them back to back helps

SEEJANEGOTV

We say that in the reaction lol. But the before you were born stuff I can look past lol. Some stuff just doesn't make sense but I'm ok with that

AussieDesoDogg

Hopefully you guys do Rouge One. One of, if not the best, Star Wars :)

Thomas88

Yeah i saw your reaction twice and i got the "he never owned him" line the second time lol. Thats the Problem with prequels but im okay with that too :)

o

You will find that it doesn't matter what you do, what order you watch in, if you like a movie or not. The Star Wars fanbase is the worst fanbase of them all, it is the only fanbase, that the more you like the less of a "True Fan" you are, people complain about everything.

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

In answer to your question about Kylo Ren's real name... it is Ben Solo, named after Obi Wan Kenobi, or Old Ben like Obi Wan called himself while he lived on Tatooine as a hermit.

Raven Dark

Jane, James Earl Jones (Darth Vader's voice) played Mufasa in Disney's The Lion King. His voice really is that deep. LOL He also played the bad guy in Conan The Barbarian. The actor who wore the mask, the physical body of Darth, was played by another man. I can't remember his name now.
