I was just curious as you've had the new Doctor for a few episodes now, and you know it takes time from one to the next. How are you taking to him?

Stephen Ray

They focused on Perkins because it was a celebrity guest appearance, I understand. The Doctor isn't heartless, but after watching an uncountable number of deaths over the last two thousand years he understands the importance of action rather than grieving.

Besides the points you guys mentioned afterwards, I think it's also notable that Clara lies to the Doctor when she says it had been Danny's decision that she stop traveling with the Doctor, but that now he's fine with it. We can tell from the phone call that the change of heart is hers, not Danny's, but that's not what she tells the Doctor.

At the end. Clara lies and Danny thinks she’s already told the doctor she’s not traveling anymore however he isn’t aware of this because Clara continues with the doctor. Also that thing you said was jelly that was a refrence to one of the classic doctors as his catch phrase was would you like a jelly baby. So the doctor used to carry jelly babies around a lot. Not as much after him but sometime for a one off. If you don’t know what it is it’s a type of british sweet in the shape of babies. Nice you spotted the refrence are you my mummy from Chris Ecclestons era. The doctors also not heartless. I think a lot of the people he’s lost such as rose Martha Donna Amy Rory etc... I think he often feels guilty and his fault for their deaths and he’s seen so many that he just moves in and prefers to take action then care to prevents death like he says at the end. It’s not very clear at the end but most people survived there’s a deleted scene where it shows Mrs Pitt survived and you already know Perkins survived.

When the Doctor offers a jelly baby, thats homage to Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor, and also the Curator in the 50th anniversary! a nice touch by the writers and very subtle and unknown to people who didnt know Dr Who before the 2005 'regeneration'
