The TARDIS was blowing up because of all the regeneration energy released. You can see some of the panels exploding during the regeneration; similar to when 10 regenerated to 11 in the control room and broke it and the TARDIS crashed into Amy’s yard. 13 just pushed a button to start things up and it caused multiple system failures according to the display.

eyyyyyyy! You got the order right! Congratulations! Yeah this is a heartbreaking episode. I think it would have been a little more impactful if we had some more time with Bill land Nardole, but they were great fun while they were here. I would like to point out that, much like the end of Tennant's run, this was the end for the showrunner as well. Steven Moffat took over from Davies on the first episode of series 5, and now Chris Chibnall is going to be running it on the first episode of series 11. It'll definitely be... interesting. Jodie did get a bad rep at the start, as Mark Ward said, but now most people agree that the problem isn't on the actors. Jodie's a great actor - there are /other/ factors that make the next two seasons as controversial as they are. Glad you're going into it with an open mind, though, that's what I've always loved about you two.

Be prepared for a massive shift in tone going forward. Season 11 gets a pretty bad rap (and I'm not a big fan of it myself) but I think Season 12 has some superb episodes once things warm up with the new Doctor and team. (And I think Jane has hit the nail on the head - it is DEFINITELY systemic sexism as the majority of people were negative about Jodie before she even started... unfortunately, she was then landed with a few fairly crappy episodes fairly early on which only added fuel to the fire!)

Keep in mind, as has been pointed out... not only a new doctor, but new show runner, writers, companions, new composer for the music... a lot of change. I can say personally, the music composition and writing have been paramount in my opinion of the latest seasons.

Finally worked, the 1st doctor was back in 1963 however as back then episodes were made of 4 parts the 4th bit is a missing episode. So you don't know much about the 1st regeneration so they added to this episode to explain bits of the last episode that was missing. The 1st doctor showed at beginning was william hartnell. However as that actor sadly passed away. the 1st doctor is portrayed by David bradley who also played Solomon back in dinosaurs in spaceship. Also the captain is the writer Mark Gattis who played Lazarus back in Series 3. Capaldi's my favourite doctor as i love his character development. A lot of people aren't keen on his doctor because he's very arrogant in series 8 but those people just don't understand his development. I'm personally not keen on Tennants doctor due to him not changing at all and being too human, lacks the alien side. Whilst Capaldi's character is obvious and makes sense. What do you think of each doctor out of curiousity? Do you like them all equally or do you have a favourite or not really?
