You have to go out of town for a convention. It’s hard for you to leave as your partner has been sick for a while. She tells you it’s just a virus and she will be ok while you are gone.

You begrudgingly leave, and call her multiple times a day to check in. A few days into your trip, you are not able to get her on the phone, which causes you to panic a little. You finally get a call, but it’s from her friend telling you she took her to the hospital.

You drop everything a take the first flight home. When you get back into town, you find she was released from the hospital and taken home. You go home and see she is resting in bed. Relieved she is ok, you smother her with hugs and kisses.

You asked her what happened, and she tells you this day with have more meaning to her starting next year. Confused you ask her what she means. She asked you what today is, and you remember it’s Mother’s Day, but still you are confused.

She then hands you an envelope that has pictures inside. You open it to find sonogram pictures. This sends a wave an emotions as you realize she is pregnant and next year will be her first Mother’s Day to celebrate.

You celebrate this year as a father-to-be with passion, love, and joy as you make love to the mother-to-be of your child. Afterwards, you give kisses to her belly letting her know you can’t wait to spoil her and your baby during the pregnancy.
