Everyone in power knew this was a possibility and yet, despite the warnings of scientists across the globe, nobody cared. War became the way of life. Who would come out on top. Well it turns out all those that wanted the war either got dead, or got undead. We are the last known survivors. At least to our knowledge. 2 friends just trying to survive. 

While clearing a house that I was hesitant to be in because of the sheer size of it, we get a surprise attack. After I get injured trying to get us down the stairs, we take shelter in the basement. You try to comfort me which lights a spark i didnt even realize was there.
