Hey all.


I've been thinking if I should make so that models end their career at some point.

So after x number of days they decide they want out. You can prolong their career with some lucrative contract or let them go.

They wont be deleted tho. They'll go in the retired section, maybe transformed to staff member or whatever other things we'll think of.


What good can that bring?

Few pornstars have very long careers so you'll have to be on a constant hunt for new fresh talent and secure them with contracts. End game wont get so stale.

On the other side you invested a lot of time and money to bring a model to stardom and then they decide to quit. 

We have permanent models since the game was first made public and nobody was bothered with it.


I personally would make that models retire but it might not be the best choice. So I'm asking you.

I'm fine with stars retiring eventually, but I think it shouldn't be too quick. Maybe after both a large number of scenes and a certain period of time, they will want to retire. Training time shouldn't count towards that.

this is a little tuff for me, on one hand you could lose a girl you like more then the others, on that note unless you can still f### them even if there in the retired girls section, on the other hand like you said it will keep the End game from getting stale, that being said I can think of one thing that might be allow people to use this as advance when it comes to the city's more rich and well know people and company's.

pedev I hate to ask this of you but do you have any plans for this section other then using it to keep track of retired actors?

In general, I believe that retirement is a sensible mechanic. The number of pornstars staying at the top for a longer time period, like 10 years, is quite small (and we all know their names :) while many others quit after a handful of scenes. However, if retirement is integrated then there should be, as indicated in the post, some option to convince the actor/actress to continue (or the current perk that prevents them from leaving should apply to this situation). In addition, I would argue to make retirement a probabilistic event (instead of an automatic one that fires after a fixed period of time) and you should be able to turn it off in the options (if this can be implemented without significant difficulties). Just as a suggestion, besides monetary compensation there could also be some other kind of compensation (wants a rival fired, refuses to shoot certain types of scenes, stat decline or so).

Yeah, number will be high for now. We'll see in time where the nice balance is.

Probably some options to make retired actors members of your staff, girlfriends, maybe some way to revive their careers if the thirst is real.

Maybe we can tie it to models popularity. Like if she's super popular she certainly wont retire, but chance gets higher as her popularity plunges. Will have to test what works the best.

Retirement could be related to a mix of popularity, money, and other factors. Although popularity is hard for me to understand how exactly that gets implemented in game? Toggelable in settings is definitely a good idea though. Maybe down the road we can have the ability to help them transition to other roles. Eg get them gigs in other things, and then even after they retire we can occasionally get influence, business contracts for other things.

More popular the scene is, more her popularity rises. Then after a while her popularity starts to drop. This is how it works now. Once company gets expanded there will be stuff just for raising popularity of your models. Probably something like you'll get her to do a camshow or send her to erotic convention and her popularity will go up. Then it will stay like this for a while. This is just a theory for now, i'll have to test all this to see how it works. Yea we can make them do stuff after their retire. Easiest to implement is of course to convert them to a staff member.

I already asked this question (and it doesn't really belong here) but since I got no answer I'll just try again :) Will the next update give us the option to somehow modify the actresses' skin tones (I know that this feature would not be immersive or realistic but I continue to get too many actresses with over- or undersaturated skin colors)? Thanks again for your help.

Don't know exactly what can be done. Maybe a cheat to let you set the tones.

First of all, thanks for the answer. Cheats would be nice or (if possible) there could be a button in the surgery screen that allows you to pick a tone like for the hair color. From my experience it is a problem of the color range for "pale" actresses. Since "pale" counts as a distinct characteristic (that cannot be combined with the "white" characteristic) a significant color range that would normally be associated with Caucasian people (and is fairly common among them) is unavailable to "white" actresses. Therefore, the RNG tends to pick more oversaturated tones for "white" actresses since they are overrepresented in this color palette. Accordingly, it might also help to simply add the "pale" colors to the "white" palette to reduce the chances of getting oversaturated skin tones. Anyways, thanks for all the good work, I can't wait to see the next update :)

I removed PALE characteristic from the game, merged it with WHITE. I think it doesn't make much sense anymore, since it was a thing from past when we had 4 skin colors.
