Chapter 08 WIP (Patreon)

Hello my gemlins! I'm still in the trnches of comic production, this chapter is just never ending, haha. I ended up adding more pages again, someone needs to stop me 💦 I really like how these sketches turned out and I wanted to share them!

A little update on my progress - I have colours done up to page 20 and sketches up to page 27, now I've run out of storyboard and need to get the last few bits of the script visualised orz I don't normally do this, I usually go into sketches+inks etc after I have the entire chapter storyboarded but my workflow has been so fractured in the last few months that I can't do things in my usual order or I'll make even slower progress. For example, when I was traveling I'd bring the ipad to to storyboard & sketches on the train, but I can't ink or colour with the ipad (it's too small, I hate doing anything but lose sketches with it). On the other hand, when I was at home and had access to my PC+tablet I tried to focus on inking and colouring, but would leave sketches & storyboard for later, because I knew I'd be on a train again soon, lol.

So my usual system is completely broken after the last few months. Add to that other stressors and tasks that prevented me from drawing and now here we are 😂 This week I've actually been ignoring a lot of stuff that I should be doing, just so I can focus on drawing FOR ONCE, at least for a few days and the progress I've made in those few days alone is pretty incredible compared to what it was before 😭 I wish I could delegate other tasks to like an assistant or co-worker sometimes.

I still feel a lot of guilt because I won't be able to give you all the comic pages you should be getting this month, but I hope I will at least get far enough to start releasing the next chapter here at the end of October.

Anyway, I'm rambling at this point. I just feel like I haven't really taken the time to share things with you all this year, so I wanna make more of an effort again to give you a few more insights, while also hopefully not coming across as a whiny little baby 😂 I also wanna start streaming again soon, but my headphones broke and I'd like to get a new pair before I hop back on streams but technically I can't afford to spend money on stuff like that right now, so hmmmmmmmm, not sure what to do yet! We'll see!

For the rest of the week all I will do is draw and then next week I'll have to reevaluate after checking how much damage I've done to my schedule by ignoring other tasks. But I'm sure it'll be fine, haha.
