February Roadmap (+ some important updates) (Patreon)

Hello my gemlins~ 💜

February has arrived and with it comes the return of regular Shallow Sleep updates as promised!

And I wanna start the month off with this little panel of the graveyard cat from the upcoming chapter! It's in phone wallpaper size, in case you want to download it 👀💜 (see attachment below)

Other than 2 Shallow Sleep updates, you can also expect more sketches/WIPs from chapter 07 this month! I started storyboarding it today and ohhhboi it's going to be GOOD, I cannot wait to draw it all. Once the storyboard is done, I'll get back on stream regularly, so you can watch the process if you're interested and don't mind slight spoilers 😄

I'm hoping to find some time for extra artwork too, but comic shall remain priority no.1 for now!

Now, a small recap for last month:

January was pretty good!

In personal news: I had a bunch of driving lessons and I feel pretty good about my driving skills now, I definitely think I'll be able to do this :> I took this week off from driving in order to fully focus on my work, because I know that having appointments during the day always leaves me exhausted when I come back home and I'm never able to get a lot of work done on those days... so I need the occasional week that's completely appointment free!

Fynni had his second ultrasound last week and we can now slowly reduce the amount of heart medication he's currently taking. and in March he'll have to get another ultrasound to check how that's working out for his little old heart! The vet is still optimistic, so I am too 💜

AND if you're at the Leipziger Buchmesse...... I'll be there too, with my publisher, probably for a signing?? So I hope to meet some of you there 💜 

And for my English peeps: Volume 03 will also be available in English very soon!! My US publisher still has to ship the volume 02 preorders, which can take some time because the whole operation is basically run by only one person but as soon as that's done and they have time and room in their publishing schedule again, we'll release volume 03 for y'all! I'll let you know when the time comes, of course :> Thank you for being so patient with me as usual.

Then, some more Patreon related news!I have decided to move the Heliodor (1.50 €) rewards to the Morganite (4.50€) tier, so if you're a Heliodor gemlin, you might not see many posts from me in the future! I do appreciate every bit of financial support more than I can say but most of the sketches and WIPs will go into the Morganite tier from now on. Any new people who join that tier in the future will also not be getting Discord access, it's all going to the higher tier. (anyone who's already a Heliodor gemlin and in the server can of course stay!! 💜 I'm not kicking anybody, just preventing access for future members)

To explain this decision a bit: In the last 2 (or 3 even?) years I haven't changed my Patreon prices at all, but prices for most of the things I have to pay to live have noticeably changed a lot, everything's getting more expensive (insurance, groceries, vet costs, public transport, electricity, you name it) and I know that's the case for all of us. I don't feel ready yet to raise prices here (the most I would do is set the Morganite tier from 4.50€ to 5.00€) because I want to keep my work as affordable as possible, but I think "retiring" the Heliodor tier makes sense for now, because due to Patreon+Paypal fees I barely get anything from that tier anyway. So if people would like to subscribe to the Morganite tier instead and get those more exclusive rewards, that'd be wonderful 💜 And if instead gemlins from that tier decide to leave, then I totally understand that too but since I only get a few cents from it and not many people are in it, this decision being a flop wouldn't hurt my finances too much,  if that makes sense.

I will keep the tier for now as kind of a tip jar.

AND, finally, for my dear Emerald (20.00€) gemlins: Due to my break + me currently focusing on building up a buffer again, I have not been able to draw any extra artwork to order goodies with. So I won't be able to send you some nice mail on time, I'M REALLY SORRY. I'll make up for it in the next batch! You'll get 6 months worth of goodies and I'll put a little extra in for you to make up for it and as a thank you for your patience 😌 So please look forward to that!
