This may be a silly question, but is a puppy course in-person insanely necessary? My first service dog was an American Akita, a unicorn for his breed, but he had 0 interest in people or other dogs, so I handled his training with a trainer and at home. Besides your content, I also have another trainer working with me again for basic obedience and then further service work. The idea of a puppy class in-person gives me some anxiety that I don’t want to deal with nor expose my puppy to…my trainer hasn’t mentioned it, but I just want to be sure it’s not implied/assumed.

Thanks for answering my question! It’s mostly excitement around humans and other dogs and we will work on this method.

It always is! :) Yes try the things I discussed in the video. Dogs that are food motivated do really well with this, it just takes a lot of reps and practice. Good luck!
