Trick Dog Title Evaluation! New Inner Circle and Elite Benefit! (Patreon)
Content
On my new website (that will hopefully be out in early 2023!), I'm working on a section on introducing my dogs. And when I started that section, I realized how many titles Jake has vs. CoolWhip. A lot of that difference can be attributed to first child syndrome, as when I got Jake, I had no other dogs, no real responsibilities, and an obsession with exploring all sorts of dog sports (which I still have!), but some of it can also be attributed to the pandemic and a handful of injuries from disc that required long rehab times. I didn't think I was a person who cared about titles, but I am a person who cares about fairness, and the fact that Jake had an alphabet behind his name and she didn't made me start on a bit of a journey ...
So, it's time to get CoolWhip some letters behind her name. So last week I submitted and received her AKC Novice Trick Dog title (TKN), as well as her AKC Intermediate Trick Dog Title (TKI). This weekend I'm planning to video and submit her Advanced trick dog title.
Because I'm an AKC Evaluator, I thought it would be fun to add another benefit to the Inner Circle and Elite membership levels: trick dog title evaluation. While you will still have to pay for the title via AKC (website below), you won't have to pay for evaluation for your title which can be submitted by video. I am also a a Certified Trick Dog Instructor through Do More with Your Dog, so I am able to evaluate for that organization as well.
Above is my submission for my novice title (yes, its in my PJs) to give you an idea of what is involved in the AKC Trick Dog titles, and I've linked the AKC information here: https://www.akc.org/sports/trick-dog/. I'll be posting my intermediate and advanced submission over the next little bit as well.
Remember, you can always move between Patreon levels if they aren't restricted to a certain amount of members, so if you're at Crew level and need a video reviewed for that month, you can always move up for the month, be involved in the extra livestreams etc. and then move back down to Crew level for the next month.
The thing I love about titles is it gives your training a bit of structure and goal orientation. The trick titles also keep it fun because it can be done from the comfort of your own home. I hope this helps motivate you to train a few more tricks with your dog. And if you see anything you'd like to learn how to train in this video or the next title videos I post, let me know and I'll try to make a tutorial!
Happy Training!
