I'm sad I missed this one live, what a banger. I will never get tired of your puppy testing videos! Both the breeders I am looking at do their own temperament testing and match the puppy with the buyer. I'm not sure if they video the testing or not. Do you see that as an issue? Would you do these tests when you pick up the puppy even though you can't decide to pick a different one?

Hey Eve, I probably wouldn't personally do these tests on pick-up day if the dog was already chosen for me, unless I was willing to walk away. I would ask the breeder if they can tape/review the test since they typically do them at 7 weeks. If nothing else, it would give you information about how you might want to focus your first few weeks together. You do have to trust the breeder to some extent to know their dogs, but many breeders might have two dogs that fit your needs, and you might be able to choose between those two dogs if given the tests to review. But if you're choosing a quality breeder who understands the needs of an SD prospect, you're likely good either way!

The first test you used here, where you mentioned it was new for you, which one was that? You mentioned it in the video but I couldn’t understand what you said. I wish every puppy would be this solid/stable as this one. Minus the huge interest for the environment and his energy level lol. Loved how cool he was with the noises and novel objects.
