Can’t wait to see this as it’s a top question of mine. Funny story that shows how valuable all this training is, even for a pet dog. I’m locked out of my car outside my new doctor’s office. I parked under a shady tree, got my dog out to walk him prior to leaving him in the car. I locked my Honda Ridgeline with the fob, and was putting something in the truck topper in the back and set my keys down in the truck bed. When I closed the topper, the automatic lock feature clicked. “}#%#!!!,” I thought. I crawled all over in my nice clothes underneath the car looking for a hidden key. Couldn’t find one. Climbed over the hood and in through the sunroof to get my purse. Thought to myself, “I can start the car and hit the unlock button.” That set off the car alarm. I had no way to shut it off. (Fortunately it timed out after a few minutes.) Trip was waiting calmly, his leash dangling, loose outside the car while the horn blared away. The doors wouldn’t unlock even from the inside so I climbed back out the sunroof and called my doctor’s office. I explained the situation and asked if I could bring my dog with me to the appointment. They put me on a long hold, then came back and said yes, we have permission. So Trip had to go in with me. I remembered my Doggy U service dog handler’s manners and had him lie down, out of the way, in a busy waiting room full of kids while I filled out mountains of paperwork. Then they took me to an empty exam room and told me to put him in the exam room and leave him there. I didn’t know what would happen next, but feared he might have to stay there the whole time while they took me somewhere else. That worried me a bit, but he’s passed his CGC, so I did as told. Fortunately, they just needed to weigh and measure me. We came back to the exam room, and he was good as gold, lying where I’d placed him. I tucked him into a tighter, out-of-the-way spot where he stayed quietly through the entire appointment. I was there mainly for my high blood pressure of all things, which of course by now was through the roof. He again laid tight under the counter as I checked out, tho I did have to physically move him to a correct position out of the aisle (need more work on that!). He held his down and allowed one nurse to pet him without getting up. I thanked everybody profusely, and told them this is something I had been working hard on. So thank you, Laura, and the entire staff at Doggy U for helping us get to this point!! I am so glad I joined Patreon to become a member of Doggy U. (My husband has just arrived with the spare key.)

Just responded on Youtube to this but I absolutely LOVE this story! It's so great that you two have worked so hard together that something like this was totally possible and I'm sure you impressed everyone!

Aww, Laura. That means so much! I write way too much. I don’t mean to hog your time! It’s just so exciting when things come together like that. Thank you! ;-)
