This weekend I had the privilege of working with another Koolie, Pique, owned by DOGGY•U community member, Jamie Popper! I try really hard, when possible, to use dogs that don't yet know the skill I'm teaching for my videos so that you can see the entire training process, start to finish. Pique has is a competitive disc dog and has a ton of foundational skills, but hadn't yet practiced this trick, so it was a perfect opportunity to show you how to teach it!

Pique was so fun to work with and picked up the rebound really quickly!

So in this video I show you how to teach the rebound trick to your dog. With this trick your dog jumps and kick-turns off your chest (or lower body part for smaller dogs). It's great for disc, as well as trick shows/contests and simply wowing to family and friends.

I have also trained this trick for jumping off walls, trees and other obstacles. It can be a super fun one! Just be sure you only work on this with adult dogs and in short training sessions, as it is very physical. The sessions you see here were done over two days with lots of breaks in between practice sessions.
