Hey Ya'll!

I wanted to do a video on the gear I use, since I get so many questions about it. This was a great time to do it because I only had the essentials with me on this trip!

The list of gear and links is in the description of the video if you click on the "YouTube" button to watch it on youtube. While you're checking out the gear links, be sure to boop that like button for me ;)

Have a great weekend!

Do you have the list of everything you mentioned? I have an English cream golden retriever. He’s about eight months old and we have a trainer. Plus I am augmenting his training. It seems sometimes when we completely vested up and we go out and we work a little while that he gets fairly hot. However, he does act much better when he’s fully vested out in public, do you have any suggestions that might help? Do you have a Gear that you suggest for a dog that has that much hair or would you use the items that you discussed in this video? By the way we live in Texas, so it can get quite hot

I’m so sorry. Just saw the note about notes in YT video. My bad. I would like your thoughts and what is best when you need to put a vest on but it’s so darn hot outside

DOGGY•U

Hey Linda! So, the first thing I would consider is if the signs of being hot that you're seeing is excess panting: is it possibly heat plus stress panting? If the panting does not happen in hot weather, we can rule that out. So for vests, the butterfly vest is the least fabric, but you could also consider a cooling vest under it. You could also do a mesh vest. Also, I've seen harnesses where the strapping has "service dog" written on it. So it's essentially a harness but it signifies service work. Finally, a leash wrap could also work in those cases, though I think the public is less intrusive if the dog is wearing some sort of vest/insignia. Example of mesh vest: https://activedogs.com/hybrid-mesh-vest Example of harness with writing on it: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1415221527/custom-embroidered-x-back-dog-harness?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=custom+service+dog+harness&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&cns=1&edd=1&sts=1&referrer_page_guid=f7716383817.dda8e0b9209c9bd6f4e5.00&organic_search_click=1 I have not purchased from either of the above companies, just wanted to give you a visual example. Hope that helps!
