Coloradan here, thank you for mentioning the environmental impact of dogs! PSA: There is a reason pet dogs are not allowed in certain outdoor areas, so please be mindful and keep your dog's impact minimal. Additionally, especially in Colorado, many dogs hike off leash. In Boulder, owners pretty much just have to watch a video and their dog can be off leash on designated trails. Because of this, we get a lot of dogs who do not come when called, chase wildlife, and interact with your dog even if they're working. I highly recommend bringing Citronella spray on off leash trails and even on regular trails since nobody seems to care if their dogs are supposed to be on leash. And I also recommend bringing bear spray since even well trained dogs can get trigger stacked and chase a bear or moose, then run back to the owner and potentially get you both seriously injured or worse. Great video and super important info that is not often talked about!!

Thanks Victoria! And I can definitely commiserate on the off-leash dog thing. I find that to be the case in Colorado, and where I am in California right now. So frustrating!
