Hey Folks!

The first part of this week's video is a story of a recent trip I had to my doctor's and the bizarre thing that happened that I've never had happen before.

The second half is a discussion and demo of how I decompressed my dog after the incident, and how I prepare dogs for the weird and unpredictable things that are definitely going to happen when you're out working your dog  (it's not a question of if, but when!).

It's really all about teaching your dog to expect the unexpected. So join me in a bit of storytime and a bit of public access discussion.

As always, this video is ad-free for Patreon members until public release on Friday :)

We were on our 3rd flight, right after Christmas, so the airport was crazy busy so it’s still a bit stressful! Anyway, there was a lady carrying her little “yapper” and as soon as this dog saw my dog Reyah, it lunged out of her arms to come after us, and barking. Thankfully she caught the dog at the last minute, but unfortunately it startled my dog (and all of us) Reyah barked back. I wanted to turn around and run away! I corrected her and immediately and regained focus, but felt she was on alert after that, but once we got on the plane she was fine and we had a great flight! Thanks for helping me remember we all have off bad days!

The busload of Comic Con folks, LOL! Yes, that kind of thing happens for sure. One time we walked into an Ace Hardware (when my now-retired girl was 2-3 yrs old) and right inside the door was a 7 ft tall inflatable dragon with moving wings and fluttering red tongues of "fire" coming out of its mouth. Not something I'd have ever anticipated!

Oh so many things I could list. 😂 Standing in line at the grocery store hear this bizarre noise, turn around and the man behind me has a parrot on his shoulder and it’s going bananas at my sdit. I was so glad I had spent time training around birds. Never ever expected that! Or being fully hooked up to an iv and having a hospital pharmacy worker get down on the floor to crawl to my sleeping service dog to mess with him and say hello while I was asleep no less. Hadn’t really trained for that. Honestly that one made me mad

I used to enter Halloween contest with my SDs. Eva one 2nd place at Barkus & Meoux the largest pet parade in USA. Mari Gras for pets of all kinds, mostly dogs and cats, but have seen horses, pigs, birds, ect. People dye their dogs all different looking and colors. She wore a crown with lafreur's on it and pink & blue butter flies, crown was metal, pink bows in ears & a tu tu. Hubby walked her for me because I have agoraphobia and he wore a cowboy hat, big buckle belt, & boots. Oh we got chicken to raise for eggs when she was 4 and go to my friend who she plays with lambs & horse & have them shoot there guns off. I love the way you train incorporating the Control Unleased games. I have been to a summit or 2 she has been at, online of course. I also have pattern games & another 3 DVD just haven't done work with my SD, just my reactive dog. And love the way you train behind the wall. Getting so excited about my SDit prospect this summer.

The weirdest thing that ever happened to me was early in my SD journey with my first SD. I was in line to pay at a Sam’s Club when a woman got on her hands and knees and barked at my dog. I was stunned into silence. Thank goodness my dog was perfectly fine. I have been working on a lot of engage/disengage and automatic check ins with my current SD. He has never had a problem with PA but I believe in lifelong learning. Thanks so much for your channel. You are awesome!👏

Yessss! I love when the animatronics or blow ups are out! So good for training (when you know they're coming!)

I paid and joined and I’m seeing locked videos. What’s up?

DOGGY•U

Hi Lisa! Thanks for joining! It looks like you joined at the "member" level. General members have access to all videos except the deep dives. The Deep Dives are a monthly live that Inner Circle or above levels have access to where I dive deeper into a special topic. If you click on any of the deep dives, it should give you the option to join at that level. If there's a month that you want to attend the Deep Dive for (either live or watch the replay), you can always join for that month, and then move yourself back down to your current "member" level for the next month if you want. Once you're at the Inner Circle level you'll have access to all past Deep Dives as well. You can also check out each membership level for the benefits they offer. Hope that helps!

Love this one! Got to thinking about how long of a break we will take from going to the zoo with SDIT.
