Loved the novel, love the cast, was super excited for this to FINALLY drop — only a little bit less than that to see Nolan & co. react to it. The minute Nolan was like “what is an Alpha?!” I hollered and had to pause. Since they’ve been in BL fandom for a handful of years (and a bunch of other shows they’ve seen had A/B/O roots that were talked about by stans during production), I was slightly gagged that has NO context. I wonder how many other mainstream fans were completely thrown by them keeping the A/B/O in. Pit Babe really is brave to be the series that finally just left it in rather than scrubbing (dreading the day mpreg finally crosses over…) and it’ll be interesting if they can actually explain it beyond N&J’s guesstimates. I’m imagining Pavel doing press and reaction videos trying to explain the trope and lmao good luck bro 🫡 I wonder why they decided to keep it a secret (dodging wank?) rather than basically doing nonstop primers on their Youtube channel to just get it all out of the way beforehand.
