I am Jhericho and Jhericho is me cause when Khun Yai walked in talking about it's me, I was like...HOW, WHAT, WHO , WHEN...uh...okay...LOL

So the first lifetime (Commander Yai) is “Part 2” of the book - for the show they drew out “Part 1” (Khun Yai) to be the entire season. Part 2 is actually my favorite bit, but I fully understand and agree with why they didn’t do a split season + why they fleshed out Part 1 more, especially with the changes they made re: Yai’s family. I’m sure they weren’t sure of a S2 potential (& the truly historical stuff has to cost more) which is why they sprinkled in the Commander Yai stuff as easter eggs for readers but didn’t waste too much time explaining in case they didn’t get a S2. (If the show wasn’t quickly flagged for awards I’m sure the after-credits scene never would have seen the light of day.) Anyway! In the least spoilery way: the Commander Yai stuff happens after Jom disappears from Khun Yai but BEFORE he is rescued by the modern paramedics. He doesn’t go back into time after they reunite, the show just cut the Part 2 section for time/budget/to have content for a season two. Yai has always been in love with Jom - but it’s literally JOM, not past lives!Jom, because he time travels. Mildly spoilery but to explain (in jest, lol) why Kent “had” to watch this season/why it wasn’t a waste of time: Jom has loved three versions of Yai. When they first meet (from Yai’s soul’s POV), Jom is in love with Commander Yai (which starts the connection) and Commender Yai has to fall in love with him; when Jom meets Khun Yai (their first time meeting, from Jom’s POV), Khun Yai is already in love with him (and Jom has to fall in love/realize the connection); and when they finally meet in the future/present, they’re both in love with one another (and the connection is finally correct and therefore he can stop time traveling…but onLy because he did the time traveling to make this final meeting possible lol). I know you don’t read, Nolan, but if there is one novel to read, this is the one!! I have links!!

Nice one!👍🫶I can see why S2 might be hard to film especially for certain scenes(cough cough you know what I mean, you read it😂); as for the 1928 story, they changed quite a bit stuff with Khun Yai and the surrounding household people: like Robert was less of a douche/not a rapist in the novel,(the fire stuff was not in the book); the 2 girls, Maey and Eaeng Peng never existed, Eaeng Peng was happily married to Robert, expecting a child, even though modern day she looks like Jom’s sister Jeed etc…(which btw, she and Khun Yai are not related at all unlike the series, they have no connection whatsoever) there are quite a lot of things changed, especially the order of things happening is reorganized as well, some stuff cut out and then they created new stuff for the series adaptation, which personally I think both versions are ok tbh😇🤭 (cause the uncle Dech stuff with Robert and Yai’s dad makes the series plot more intriguing, adding more layers to just romance between Jom and Yai, it gave Jom more purpose for the time travel, more meaningful for his journey:))
