Embers to Inferno | Episode 5 (Patreon)

Surprise! To celebrate my birthday I decided to treat you all to the next episode already hehe

I was also just very excited to share this particular episode because the tension is unreal!!

This episode was so incredibly fun to write and draw! It is a sort of collab with a good friend I used to live close to while studying in Japan. She used to come over and we would brainstorm and reenact scenes together, and that was how this episode was born. In chaos and fangirl screaming 😂

It was time to really up the enemies aspect of the enemies-to-lovers trope, something I don't like at all is when after one chapter the main characters are already smitten with each other. I need a good build-up so that when something eventually happens it's all the more satisfying. Although I don't say no to a couple of heated tension moments in the meantime 👀

While there is definitely a sort of attraction between Valtor and Bloom at the moment, there is also still much hatred and distrust. But, that's what makes enemies to lovers so great to me! The stolen moments, the "forbidden" love, the tension in fights... it's so much better than a standard romance to me 😌
