The plot thickens!

Where to even start this episode haha!

One of the reasons I love writing Valtor so much is because he's basically a blank slate. Rainbow didn't develop his character much at all so we're left to wonder and make our own speculations about his past. Ever since I rewatched Winx Club as an adult, I felt like there was so much more to his character and motivations. I really want to dive deeper into that in this webtoon, I wanted to flesh out his character a lot more and give him motivations for being the way he is. Unlike the cartoon where the villains are often just evil for the sake of being evil, like the Trix.

Valtor also never did strike me as pure evil the way Darkar did, even though he has done horrible things he still has some sort of likeable quality about him. (or maybe I'm just delulu and simp too much lol) He is calm, collected, charming and intelligent. This is a sort of villain we hadn't seen before from Winx (& Yes this is a diss towards Darkar hahaha) I think that's why a lot of people like him!

And Bloom... Well, our girl messed up haha. Stella is positively fuming about it too 😂 Because as her best friend, she will be the first to call out bullshit! I felt like Bloom rushing to Valtor without any help is so on-brand for her too haha. And now she has this mark, what could this possibly mean for our fairy 👀 Next episode we find out more!

This was a difficult episode to draw and write, it took so long until it was finished. Whenever I read it I still get PTSD flashbacks of moving back home from Japan all on my own 😂 It was a stressful time, to say the least, but despite that I still really like this episode! I did end up updating A LOT of the panels, it took me a couple of days to get through even haha. Working on a webtoon while moving countries is not the way to go 🙈
