Thumbnails & Script | Episode 11 (Patreon)

Sooo you might see a slight difference in the thumbnails for episode 11... I tried something different and let me tell you, I never did it again haha. Instead of drawing a comprehensive sketch I just went for vague poses without much expression, and it just made the entire process so much harder 😭

So, here's a little tip for my aspiring webcomic artists: Please, I beg, draw your sketches a little bit more detailed than this 🥹 I tried to do this to save time, but the episode ended up taking me even longer, lol.

Sadly, our brains are not made to draw everything perfectly from scratch, except for maybe a very small percentage of artists. It's really best to make messy but clear sketches and spend 10 seconds longer on them than struggle when you do lineart later down the line. I thought I found the solution to drawing quicker, but alas, I was just gaslighting myself.

Also, where are most sketches even?? I literally didn't even draw some omg 😭 I genuinely do not know what went through my mind here haha. I did copy some panels from previous episodes, but still this is just next level lol.

Learn from my mistakes everyone, and let me bless you with the wisdom that sketching first does indeed help and is not a waste of time 🙏🏻

I also thought going page by page was smart... oh you sweet summer child. DO NOT work page by page when you're thumbnailing! It is better to do all your thumbnails at once to see if you like to flow of the story and then you can start working page by page. I stupidly did it differently here and had sooo much to rearrange later down the line. Thumbnailing might sound like a tedious and unnecessary process, but it's the most important step! If you do your thumbnails/sketches well you will save yourself a lot of trouble/time later down the line.

Moral of the story: Do as I say, not as I do xoxo 🙏🏻
