Character Design | The Trix Pyjamas (Patreon)

Normally I'd post the sketches and script today, but I decided to wait a little bit! I wanted to allow you guys to read the script with fresh eyes. I think it'll be more fun to read it again in that case 🥹

So for today, I bring you some new looks for our favourite witches! Sleepwear edition 🤍

⟡ Icy: I know everyone was so obsessed with Icy's beautiful hair down instead of in a ponytail so I couldn't resist bringing her back. She looks the most beautiful with her hair down like this, I feel like she could be a model 🥹

For her pyjamas, I decided to go for something EXTRA! I know my girl is always fabulous even when she goes to bed! So I decided to give her an elegant sparkly I-just-became-a-rich-widow-after-murdering-my-husband robe 😩I wanted it to sparkle like an ice crystal and I added soft fur to the edges to make it look extra luxurious. Of course, no outfit is complete without a cute heel to finish the look! I will die on the hill that Icy is always dressed up no matter the occasion, she will serve a look any time of day ❄️

⟡ Darcy: For Darcy, I wanted something a bit more simple than Icy but still pretty. I feel like she'd want to be elegant but still comfortable as well! So I gave her a satin little nightgown, finished with some pretty lace. Of course in her signature purple color! To show that she does want more comfort than Icy, I gave her some simple purple slippers instead of heels. I feel like she'd want to give her feet a break after an entire day on stilettos haha.

For her hair I decided on a soft full braid, I think it suits her so well! It makes her look a little softer, which is exactly what I was going for! I wanted to show the Trix in a more "human" scenario.

⟡ Stormy: Now for our girl Stormy! She does not give a shit about how she looks in pyjamas and just wants comfort haha. At least that is the vibe her personality gives me! Of course, she still looks really pretty, but just a bit more sporty and comfy with a simple crop top and shorts!

For her hair, I just know this queen takes care of those curls!!👏🏻 She keeps them fresh and safe in a pretty silk bonnet. I gave the bonnet the colour of her hair so she was a bit more recognizable!

My aim with these looks is to show the Trix in a different light. In children's cartoons, villains are often only depicted as evil monsters with no remorse and not much else. But at the end of the day, the Trix are also just girls around the same age as the Winx. They are misguided and I don't deny that they are evil, but I think it's important to sometimes show their more human side as well. Just a couple of girls getting ready for bed, like all humans do! 🥹

Valtor is an exception here in my opinion though, I believe that he doesn't need much sleep and is mostly awake. I think he sleeps sometimes for recreational purposes or when he's really exhausted, but other than that he doesn't need to. He's a demon after all, and I think it does add a level of scariness to his already imposing character!
