Alfea Teachers | Character Design (Patreon)

Next episode we get a chance to see the teachers of Alfea a bit more. As we've moved through the story, I thought it would be fun to create new designs for them like I did for the Winx and the Trix. It was surprisingly difficult to come up with something fun for older characters; I sadly could not rely on my crop tops and mini skirts anymore 😂
First, we have the dreamy professor Avalon! The (now real) heartthrob of Alfea! When redesigning him, I was thinking about giving him some different colours, but he really only looks like himself in his signature white and gold hues. I don't know why, but no other colours worked for him 🤔
So instead of playing around with colour, I just used his existing palette and altered his original look to be a bit more modern. Like something a real professor would wear. For his hair, I really liked the look of the low ponytail on him! It's still very classy and elegant while switching it up a bit from his original style. My thought process for him was that he tries his best to look as different from the fake Avalon as possible. I personally think he was as traumatised by what happened as some of the students, and he wouldn't want to look like someone who did all those horrible things, even if it was his own original appearance.
For our headmistress I knew I wanted something classy. All I can think about is that insanely fashionable robe she was wearing during the nightmare episode of season 1 😩 I just know she's a fashion queen like the lady from the Aristocats, haha! I opted for an elegant vintage look that shows her status in the school. I think the colours suit her really well, and the structure of the outfit really makes her shine as a headmistress!
Last but definitely not least we have our iconic head of disciplinary, Griselda. She also deserved a restyling; the poor woman was a victim in that original look ✋🏻I do think Griselda doesn't care at all about outfits and how she looks, but as part of the staff at a school like Alfea, I do think something a little more elegant is necessary! I kept it pretty simple and conservative for her, as she does not strike me as the kind of woman who would walk around in tight clothes haha. I gave her a loose white shirt with a blue bow to bring back the bow from her original outfit, and instead of a long shapeless dress, I gave her a mid-length modest skirt.
This might not be clear on the illustration, but Griselda wears some kind of flats, while Faragonda is wearing heels.
Hope you all agree with my fashion choices for the very important staff of Alfea! 😆
